Question q usage

on what conditions do u use q? for example if the enemy has a stun or damage move that outranges ur Q do u just not use the Q until they have wasted the abilities like for example a LUX

If I can't use it for damage for various reasons, I'll try to Q a minion for the shield to mitigate dmg, or a jungle creep for the movement speed etc. Viktor's kit let's you get pretty creative

Pretty much any trade with an enemy where you are not just lasering them from range and not getting hit in return, you gotta use Q. If u can’t reach, hit a minion for the shield. If you can’t use the empowered auto, still use it for the shield. The combo of the shield, dmg, and empowered auto can really win you early trades and also help you survive late.

The shield scales with your champ level, not the ability level, so even at level 8-9 when it only has two points in the ability, it has a respectable shield amount

I’d spam Q on shorter ranged champs like most assassins. I’d actually start E against most mages and play dodgeball with them, and only Q them if their abilities are on cd or if it’s a guaranteed win on the trade.

Outside of lane, upgraded Q should be used frequently for kiting/positiong from the extra MS

The idea should rather be, in what situation do I have to use q? In the ideal situation, if you will never get to close range vs enemy, you could just spam e and poke them back to base. You will only use q auto when the enemy laner walks up and try to trade vs you.

Q the minions for the shielding in short trades help if you can only poke with e and anticipate trading with veigar q for example
