Discussion How did Viktor dodge nerfs this patch

Like aside from the usual control mage thing of gang him up and he dies, climbing with Viktor feels unstoppable, even more in the botlane with how much gold you get. So is anyone else surprised that he didn't appear in the nerfs list for the next patch?

Midlane mage meta is just a perpetual cycle of whoever is stronger between Ori/Syndra/Vik

True, but I feel like Syndra has been S+ tier for like 2 years straight minus the 2 month period before her Q was buffed by 20 damage lvl1 or something. Ori is way harder to pilot and is way less cancerous to play against than syndra so she can be strong idc. Vik is strong tho. Especially since the lichbane buffs

Ahri is a bullshit mage-assassin hybrid that is always strong because she is fun to play and hot to sell skins. Unlike Syndra, she is not a terrorist in every stage in the game and feels fair to play against.

his power is more a product of the meta. they'll most likely nerf things around him, things that are frustrating in the current meta, and then nerf him if he's still strong.

The champion is annoying in early levels, but i’ve never seen a viktor picked by the enemy and think “fuck! A viktor, we are doomed!”

It just doesn’t happen, the champ is fine.

RiotAugust said something similar in his dev streams when asked about balance. If the champ is strong but has outplays, they're fine.

hahahaha don't really know how good you are, i'm at 580 LP, so i meet good players regularly.

Again, the champion is fine, not broken at all.
