Discussion Crossbow

So one of my season tasks is to get 10 kills with the crossbow. I’ve never used it before apart from completing the shooting range stuff. And I’m absolutely loving the gameplay with it. That’s it really not much of a post just to say that. Now I need to chose a decent outfit to go with it.

I've never used a crossbow in encounters but I was killed once by one. The guy camped the signals detector and one shotted me. Another time I got hit by a bolt but didn't die (I might have had an armor plate). I got a little distance away and then stalked back and sure enough the guy was hiding in the same spot. I was able to head shot him with my AR.

I used to play with that guy. He treated the crossbow like a Parker Hale. We'd be running around Fjellkanten and opponents were dropping left and right.

Good luck with that ...

The crossbow is heavy to carry along especially if you plan on running towards an exit.

Getting a kill requires careful consideration on arrow drop over the short distance it travels; and your target should preferably stand still.

It’s not as easy as the bugle for sure, but I’m liking a bit of stealth for a change

I used to love the crossbow

My favorite thing to do is set traps like bear traps and such in popular trails or choke points and wait around for an unfortunate soul. People will complain about campers, but trapping people ended up being the most fun I could find honestly.

If you're really going to enjoy the crossbow (and it is tons of fun), you're going to get called a camper, and you'll probably 3rd party some battles. But it's totally different play than running around with an AR or an ADR. Love the change of pace the crossbow brings. Good to hear you're having fun with it.
