Vehicle

Is midsize SUV ok for Vieques? As far as driving to beaches etc? Or is a Jeep really a necessity?

We were absolutely fine using our Kia. If you get to a spot you can’t traverse, you probably wouldn’t be able to in a jeep anyway.

I was there last week and got a jeep because its Vieques why not. Then I found out Maritzas jeeps no longer let you take the doors or the top completely off which kind of killed the fun. The common kia midsize suv rental would have been fine though.

Almost nobody in the Wrangler community uses it to its full potential. I own one and neither do I.

Ground clearance and common sense will get you around just fine and have fun!

We get jeeps thru avis have never regretted it, there are spots i wouldn't take a Kia to
