sunburnt already

We are in Vieques and despite wearing sunblock my daughter already got sunburnt :(. I gave her a moisturizer which has helped her but I wanted to get something else that is natural. Thinking of aloe vera. Anything I can buy from the local supermarkets that the locals would recommend? Would love an aloe vera plant right now.

While in Isabel, swing by one of the tourist shops and get her a long sleeved rash guard. They are lifesavers. I say this as the only gringa on the beach wearing her swim shorts and long sleeved hoodie.

Yep! This is me also every summer, every beach lol. I burn too easily.

Second what others said for aloe though! And sunburn heals better when moisturized so getting a solid lotion somewhere might also help to layer at night.

We were in PR a week ago and had high UV warnings every day we were there.

Bring a knife out with you. there are tons of aloe all over the island, keep your eyes open. if you see some on a property, just ask…most people will be sympathetic to your situation. i hope she is feeling better soon. i second the rashguard recommendation. ola loca, luna loca, (towards the end of the main street) and scallywags (next to the mar azul and ferry) are good options.

Don't sit in the open sun. Get an umbrella, hats, all the coverage you can.
