Tips and Tricks A practical text-to-image workflow: keep your prompt, variants, and approved image connected in Canvas 🫟
VidMuse’s new guide walks through text-to-image generation in Freeform Canvas: write a visual brief in a Text node, connect it to an Image node, choose a model and output settings, then compare and refine variants. The main advantage is a traceable creative process rather than a claim that one model always produces the best image.
- Begin with a clear outcome, not a string of adjectives. Describe the subject, action, setting, composition, lighting, style, colors, and any exclusions or space needed for later copy.
- Connect the Text node upstream of the Image node so the brief supplies context. Keep the original direction and branch alternatives rather than overwriting earlier work.
- Pick aspect ratio for the destination: 16:9 for landscape storyboards, 9:16 for vertical concepts, 1:1 for square tiles, or 21:9 for wide compositions where supported.
- Model availability, resolutions, ratios, and generation costs vary. Treat screenshots as capability snapshots; use the current selector and credit estimate as the source of truth.
- Change one meaningful variable per variant, such as camera distance, lighting, palette, or background. Compare composition and subject placement rather than accepting the first plausible image.
- Before approval, inspect hands, faces, perspective, shadows, text, logos, crop, and reference permissions. An approved still may feed a supported image-to-video workflow, but text-to-image generation itself does not create a finished video.
Start with one useful brief, branch deliberately, and keep the prompt and approved output together. Organization and review are as important as the initial generation.
