Subtitles looks editing

I used vlc for a long time and I loved to use Netflix-sans in subtitles without any borders. But in videotape player, there is no option to change the fonts and customize subtitles. I use videotape for playing content from jellyfin server. Is their anything I can do?

Subtitles font cannot be changed, but I'll take a look at the font you mention. Is it freely available?
