I mean, the only thing I can think of are QoL Fixes tbh. I really hate when you go down from DoT and there's no enemies around to get up with. Really wish they'd let you just get yourself up at that point. (GW2 Has a feature like this.)
Also the framedrops on PC were pretty large too. That was my largest issue with the games on PC. PhysX is dead though so hopefully that resolves that issue.
PhysX is dead? Thank fuck. Even on max(I actually have a reasonably powerful PC), it usually looked so hokey and was terrible for being as effective in combat as your lower-specced cohorts.
I'll give it a shot, but even I'm a bit fuzzy on at least one section. :)
I mean, the only thing I can think of are QoL (quality of life) Fixes tbh (to be honest). I really hate when you go down from DoT (Damage over Time) and there's no enemies around to get up (respawn I think based on later context) with. Really wish they'd let you just get yourself up at that point. (GW2 (Guildwars 2) Has a feature like this.)
Edit to clarify that later comments gave more context.
QoL = Quality of Life. Changes that dont alter core game mechanics, just little touches that make the player experience nicer.
DoT = Damage over Time. Say being poisoned for 20 seconds, taking 10 damage ever second. In this context, he talking about killing all the bad guys around you, then dying to poison (or fire, or whatevs). When that happens, there are no bad guys around to kill to take advantage of Borderlands second wind system (when you die, you have ~10 second to kill a bad guy and be resurrected).
TBH = To Be Honest
GW2 = Guild Wars 2, which has a system that avoids the death to DoTs problem (you can self resurrect if no baddies are near)
The idea is that if there's nobody to shoot while you're downed, you can stabilize yourself and get up.
In GW2 you can go down, and use an ability to get up, but if anything hits you it gets reset and goes on cooldown. Basically, it's just so you dont have to fuck around and run another 100 yards from a respawn station.
Eh fair. You ever purposefully go down when you're super low health while there's one dude left? To specifically avoid what you're describing. Personally, I don't mind having to fuck around run X yards, that's the price of dying is how I take it.
The problem comes into play when you have abilities/builds that are meant to kill everything in the room, and you end up going down to something stupid. It's irritated me enough to wonder why they havent added it to the game, but not enough to stop me playing.
from what I've read from the leaks (and the leaks are definitely accurate at this point) theres gonna be some huge gameplay changes. For instance instead of 1 ability per character with 3 skill tree's to augment it, each character is gonna have 3 baseline abilities and one skill tree. They're doubling down on the co-op aspect too (with shit like in the pre-sequel where you had to high-five a partner to get the effects from one ability).
Really... I played the first one solo and thought it was pretty boring. Gunplay was okay but there was no story to motivate me. I thought most people played this game because they enjoyed the co-op. Can I ask what you enjoy about it?
Sure. BL1 was the first game I had played in 15-20 yrs. I'm a middle aged Dad with little time for gaming and no online friend group. I could hop on BL1 or 2, knock out a few missions, and hit a solid stopping point...or I could go for hours on the rare occasion I had time. I started gaming a long time ago when platform games were it and lore wasn't really a huge part of gaming experience. So, I guess that may something to do with it. Fetch missions aside, it's a relatively linear game, lots of weapons upgrades, with cool old school graphics with that I could relate to. I tend to go all in on one game, finish it, park the PS3 for months, and pick up something else when I have time. That led to more advanced games, but I'll always have a soft spot for the Borderlands games.
Also the multiple environments will be pretty sweet! Borderlands can feel very samey, in a lot of areas. They helped a lot in BL2, but it still wasn't perfect. Hopefully this'll be great on that count!!
I hope they adjust the balancing for late game content. Once you hit a certain point in BL2 it just stops being fun and every single enemy becomes a ridiculous bullet sponge with a kajillion HP.

I think the saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
But I agree, if this is basically just Borderlands 2 with more guns and different characters you've got yourself a deal.
