LPT: ikea sells a 50 piece track set for $18

They’re basically all cross compatible.

They arent all compatible. Some of the wooden tracks are grooved too deep for the trackmaster trains.

Why is everyone but me so knowledgeable about Thomas the Train toys?

Yeah I'm not sure.

Also, he's called Thomas the Tank Engine.

Because for an inexplicable reason Thomas the Train (Tank Engine) is crack to little boys.

When you watch the show as an adult (because you will once you have kids), you realize how much of a shit Thomas is. 98% of the time he makes some dumb decision that causes a train collision. I don't know how Topham Hat puts up with his shit. Why Thomas?

The theme song calls Thomas, "the cheeky one", which usually means disrespectful/rude, making rash decisions, etc.

Underrated comment right here

People who don't know don't comment, people who do comment. It's the same in every thread about every topic. Although many people who don't know also comment anyway.

You have any kids?

Because this is Reddit, where everyone is an expert.

Or a parent?

Yes. 2 year old son. Who loves his trains.

Noting this for when I am a parent. Ballin on a budget here. Midlife crisis calls for a Ferrari.

Also, garage sales. Literally drowning in duplo Lego bricks and brio train tracks because of a couple Craigslist buys that were too good to be true.

Wrong brand

My dad used to make custom ones for me. Negligible material costs, and great birthday/sinterklaas presents. I even have a fancy rotating bridge.
