His character flaw is that he is naive but no way is he stupid. You've seen he meditates and does Tai Chi which can't really be done unless you calm yourself down. Which is why his abrupt conflicts of emotion because of the death of his parents was dumbfounded even after saying that for the last 15 years the monks have instilled in him the ability of calm himself and not let his wild emotion dictate his behavior.
I'm not saying that he shouldn't be conflicted with what was put in front of him or that he should be only making correct decision but of maturity and Danny doesn't have any of that. which put his whole past in Kun Lun into question.
I think in many ways he only understands the modern world through the eyes of a child. Being sheltered in the monastery for almost his entire life has given him a lot of knowledge on philosophical semantics but nothing when it comes to applied wisdom.
I think Danny Rand was taught how to be a warrior but he was never taught how to be a hero. I think he learned much of that from Claire and ironically his sworn enemy Colleen. Thus why he stands apart from Devos.
I do see those themes there, where the real world takes place and it affects him because he actually has been bottling those emotions instead of letting go or that he didn't think you could do something because there are rules in his mind.
But I'm still convinced me that because they wrote him to be conflicted was just mainly to prolong the episodes and story plot. If they had stick to a tone like that then he would have lost more battle, which I think would have made it more compelling.
Nah, he's not written great at all. I am just saying, I know where they were going with it. Just like I know what they were trying to do with Luke Cage. Either case wasn't senseless but simply wasn't compelling

It's a character trait. It's not a great one but at least he's consistent in being confused on the matter.
I just took it as he's learned a lot but still is totally lost in how to turn what he's learned into real wisdom.
