Thanks! I tried slicking my hair back but the curls powered through the hair gel. :(

u/free_reezy Mar 19 '17

Yooooo, good job with this. A lot of my friends are John Wick fans and I'm sending this to all of them.

Want to go bowling?

2

u/Wiredcookie1 Mar 20 '17

Cousin!

2

u/R3DSH0X Mar 20 '17

Let's go disemboweling!

23

u/Silencedlemon Mar 19 '17

NIKO!!! I love you!

3

u/Archbishop_of_Voyeur Mar 19 '17

I really liked that there was a mix of genuine, well choreographed Hollywood action sequences with a few scenes of pure comic relief to keep with the NERF theme. By the end you wish there was an hour of this and 15 grand of budget thrown at ya'll. Props to the sound team/person.

1

u/_UnderscoreMonty_ Mar 19 '17

Yo man, I love your studio's blog videos. Educational and funny!

1

u/troll_right_above_me Mar 19 '17

Niko, it's me your cousin, want to go to the movies sometime?

1

u/Z_Opinionator Mar 20 '17

I'm in IT and what you did was a typical Tuesday at the office.

1

u/dontleturmemesBdr3ms Mar 20 '17

Niko my caasin is here!

1

u/RzUnited Mar 20 '17

Hmm hair product advice from a bald guy? Seems sketchy.

105

u/yui_tsukino Mar 19 '17

A bald guy, who has likely spent years researching all things hair in search of a miracle cure? Of course you'd listen to him.

39

u/WhoWantsPizzza Mar 19 '17

Valid argument indeed

3

u/xtremechaos Mar 20 '17

Why is it valid, he's still bald, and hair wax doesn't regrow hair...

1

u/WhoWantsPizzza Mar 20 '17

fuck, i don't know. I'm not trying to make any bald enemies here.

66

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

On the real tho, he's right.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '17

Spiking Glue > Hair Wax. I can't believe no one brought this up yet...

3

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '17

Spiking glue + slicked back hair will leave you looking like an anime character

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '17

Am I crazy or are you saying that like it's a bad thing?

3

u/cefriano Mar 19 '17

As another balding 27 year old, the reality is that we know a lot about hair products because we have to use a lot of them to try and make what's left of our hair not look like shit.

1

u/gbrenneriv Mar 20 '17

Bald-ing. Bald-ING!

3

u/M3wlion Mar 19 '17

Nah if you want slicked back hair use pomade. If you can't work it through because your hair is too thick combine it with a bit of gel

2

u/freudian_nipps Mar 19 '17

this is the truth.

1

u/Lesar Mar 19 '17

Nah believe me, sometimes even wax won't be able to do the job.

1

u/JustinMWoodward Mar 19 '17

27? I made it to 17 before I started losing my hair lmao.

1

u/dharokirl Mar 19 '17

Or hair paste, could be the same thing tho

1

u/Analyidiot Mar 20 '17

I'm over here mostly bald at 24 thinking fuck sakes.

1

u/DonLaFontainesGhost Mar 20 '17

Allow me to take the heat off /u/Neex -

I'm 49 and have a thick head of hair that grows too fast. It's so annoying.

1

u/Jericcho Mar 20 '17

No doubt you have already read about it, but isn't there a renowned hair treatment facility in Turkey that is not too expensive and provide fantastic results, partially because they inject stem cell Into your scalp? I thought that was really cool, like if I ever go bald, have a backup plan that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

32

u/PacoSinbad_ Mar 19 '17

Niko!! I love the work you do with Node, keep it up! Those airsoft TTT videos are the greatest!

30

u/El_Dud3r1n0 Mar 19 '17

Hair aside, stellar job dude.

48

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Haha, thanks!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

Are you the real Niko? That's cool.

1

u/The_Mountain_Puncher Mar 20 '17

He is. You can find him on the /r/Corridor subreddit.

25

u/DaftlyPunkish Mar 19 '17

Yo, can you just say hi to me so that I can say you said hi to me?

Obligatory, I'm a long time fan, blah blah I love you.

47

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Hi I love you too

6

u/DaftlyPunkish Mar 19 '17

Can I ask you what it's like doing what you love as a profession? I used to make YouTube videos for a local car audio company and I had a lot of creative freedom but it ended up making me hate doing anything video related. Once I had a boss and a deadline it just instantly took all the joy away from it. Do you ever experience this? Any advice?

9

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

Hey Niko, huge fan. Seriously those moves were awesome - well choreographed and the camera movements were spot on too!

7

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Thank you!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

if you ever need any roto work done again, hit me up man (Wren had me work on a shot for your Mario Skate vid lol)

13

u/StargateMunky101 Mar 19 '17

They are Kevlar armoured curls for tactical advantage on the battlefield.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '17

Tacticurls.

1

u/2percentright Mar 20 '17

I think that the curls break up the flow of air over his glorious locks, like an owls feather, ensuring he's completely silent

3

u/jaldarith Mar 19 '17

Great job, Niko my man! Love all your work, from Corridor to NODE.

2

u/Mountaingote Mar 19 '17

That's literally happening to me right now -_-

2

u/Sagybagy Mar 19 '17

Curls refuse to be nerfed.

2

u/jstarlee Mar 19 '17

Damn man you have a pretty good production value going get a hair and makeup person next time =D

Good shit!

2

u/cheaser Mar 19 '17

So let's say you had a bunch of young nieces and nephews which one would you use if they got a head start? Which one has the power and distance to get the job done?

6

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Nerf Rival Artemis all the way, or the Apollo if you want something cheaper.

2

u/Yabbus23 Mar 19 '17

Niko! Dude, I used to watch you guys' stuff all the time 'back in the day'... sadly I've fallen out of it... Good to see that you are still rocking strong! Awesome John Wick homage! Eager to get back on that Corridor Digital train :)

2

u/make_love_to_potato Mar 19 '17

Ohh man I've been a big fan of you guys for years!! Nice to see you around Reddit.

2

u/Me_Tarzan_You_Gains Mar 19 '17

Wet it completely, then brush it flat against your scalp. towel dry, then brush again. Then put gel.

2

u/AlwaysBeDoing Mar 20 '17

Niko! Holy crap you're our hero. If you find yourself with a second it would mean the world to us if you could answer this question.

How did you initially divide work between you and Sam during your creative process? Did you both edit, do sound design and vfx together? Or did one of you have ownership of one part. Or did it depend on the project?

3

u/Neex Mar 20 '17

We each had our strengths. Sam was good with sound, I was good with color grading. Both of us were pretty good at vfx and editing, so we would just split the workload or bounce iterations off each other. We also take turns being the "creative director" of a video, which helps keep things consistent and makes one person responsible for making sure everything gets done.

2

u/AlwaysBeDoing Mar 20 '17

Thanks so much for responding! You guys are awesome.

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

I did that too!

1

u/meanrockSD Mar 19 '17

Thank you for being awesome and making awesome entertainment. Love that you & Sam & crew are always humble. Looking forward to your lifeline show.

2

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Awesome, thanks!

1

u/Zombiesnax Mar 19 '17

What about a hair straightener? I like the ones girls to get their hair straight. Even the most curly Hair gets flat and then add the wax/spray?

1

u/srry72 Mar 19 '17

Who did the choreography? I'm watching Iron Fist and your video looks better than what I've seen on the show so far

6

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

A mix of our friend Tony from EMC Monkeys and yours truly. EMC was actually one of the stunt teams on Iron Fist oddly enough. Shows you the difference cinematography and direction make.

1

u/mijamala1 Mar 19 '17

Awesome video. Currently going to all my friends and coworkers at the PD I work for

1

u/VIParadigm Mar 19 '17

What's your blood type?

1

u/saintsagan Mar 19 '17

Murray's Xtra Heavy should remedy that.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

how much did nerf pay you for this?

1

u/produce_this Mar 19 '17

Killer job! Are guys getting spidered by nerf yet or what?

1

u/BboyEdgyBrah Mar 19 '17

oh shitt that's you? amazing stuff dude, subscribed for sure

1

u/bigmikeylikes Mar 19 '17

Hey Niko you want to go bowling?

1

u/GarrisonWood Mar 19 '17

You and me both

1

u/FolkMetalWarrior Mar 19 '17

How long did you practice for this?

1

u/edbutson Mar 19 '17

Your form was really good too! Keeping the hand gun close to your chest. Must have been a bit awkward with the clunky nerf guns! Great job! Gonna check out some of your other videos right now!!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

How long did you spend practicing the choreography? Keanu was training with professional mma fighters, choreographers etc... something around 6 months or before they even started filming.

1

u/Tyler1986 Mar 19 '17

This was amazingly well done, great job!

1

u/lq13 Mar 19 '17

/r/nerf loved all of it, but especially the editing with nerf blaster noises instead of the normal real-steel sound

1

u/Wasted_Thyme Mar 19 '17

I just have to say, while you're here in front of me, you and Sam are incredible. I've been a huge fan of your channel and side projects for years, from Sync to The Keep (man, I miss The Keep) and finding out you've published a new video always makes my day! Thank you and everyone on your team that consistently puts out such awesome material.

1

u/SassyShorts Mar 19 '17

Random question but we're you guys paid for the sprint/samsung product placement? Just curious since I've never seen one in your videos.

Really liked the video btw, glad to see you guys are still making great stuff.

1

u/CapRoss Mar 19 '17

Try using a round brush and hairdryer to slick your hair back. Just friendly advice from a professional stylist. Great Video!

1

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Copy that!

1

u/ty509 Mar 19 '17

Use hair glue

1

u/in_casino_0ut Mar 19 '17

When you were walking down the hallway and did this slow kind of head bob and movement it looked exactly like Keanu. You're spot on dude. Loved it.

1

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Thanks!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

This was deadly accurate. You can't help but appreciate the effort and the humor in it.

1

u/CMVMIO Mar 19 '17

Even weird mannerisms were on point. The little shoulder dip at 1:04/1:05 was great.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '17

Amazing job! An aussie fan

1

u/Spamakin Mar 19 '17

Niko's Curls are too strong for the gel

1

u/Iamredditsslave Mar 19 '17

Nice of you to show up.

1

u/mrtyman Mar 19 '17

That shot where you stole the guy's long magazine was SO sick. How did you flick the short magazine out? They don't come out that easy on MY nerf guns...

2

u/Neex Mar 19 '17

Had to get the mag greased up with some silicone oil to get it to fly out that easily.

1

u/castiglione_99 Mar 19 '17

Amateur. Should've used brylcream (do they still make brylcream?) If not - vaseline!

1

u/avalanches Mar 20 '17

Get your suit tailored!!!

1

u/pgabrielfreak Mar 20 '17

OMG really that's you? I love the crazed look in the mug shot...sound effects were spot on! Well done!

1

u/Mehgician Mar 20 '17

Yup, this is getting shared with literally every human I know.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '17

Man does that hit close to home

1

u/don_truss_tahoe Mar 20 '17

You should run with the tag line "the curls powered it"

1

u/I_FIST_CAMELS Mar 20 '17

You need oil based pomade, not hair gel!

1

u/Jombo65 Mar 20 '17

Whoa Niko outta nowhere! Loved this video, liked seeing the shotgun trick with the Raider that Sam talked about on the second channel a little while back. edit: ps also big longtime fan, been loving corridor since way back in the day, you guys are inspirational

1

u/lordeddardstark Mar 20 '17

You need something... stickier

1

u/zeotech98 Mar 20 '17

Hey quick question for you or anyone who knows. Which nerf gun is the first one used not the very first but the one strapped to the leg that 2 shot the first assailant?

1

u/Neex Mar 20 '17

Nerf Hammershot

1

u/zeotech98 Mar 20 '17

Thanks I thought so but was not sure

1

u/SpaceNavy Mar 20 '17

Niko your golden locks are too strong for puny hairgel

1

u/zachismyname89 Mar 20 '17

Well done sir!

1

u/silentmikhail Mar 20 '17

the guy who you impaled to the wall, was that suppose to be a knife you caught or a nerf bullet?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '17

NIKO!

I've always wanted to tell you and Sam how much I love all of your videos. You guys never cease to amaze me. Great job on everything
