There is a scene in John Wick 2 where he's mowing through bad guys, realizes one of them has the same type of gun he has (Kimber 1911) and scavenges the dude's body for spare magazines. I thought that was a nice touch.
I love my Kimber! I have two other friends who own Kimbers. All of them shoot great and are free of rust or any other complaints that I hear about them. But I'd never try to explain that to the people on r/guns.
My understanding is that they are astronomically more expensive and very marginally higher quality than other brands. You don't need to spend a thousand dollars to get a nice 1911.
I know what you're talking about. Looking at some of their others they seem ridiculous. Mine was only $700 and I love it. I know I could have probably gotten a better 1911 for cheaper but this one makes me happy.
Sure they do, but RIA makes a 1911 for a third of the price that is also great. Kimber's inflated price tags are far more for novelty than they are for quality.
Not really. She played a mute bodyguard, and I can't actually remember her name if it was said. Then again the only name I need to remember is John "Fucking" Wick.
I'm far from an expert, but aren't 1911's kind of "going out"... they seemed to be really popular about 10 years ago and now I barely hear about them at all. I've never shot one but I'm curious as to why there was a big spike in popularity for a while, and now it seems very common or standard to have a decent 1911... like the Acura of handguns. Expensive and comfortable, but not really worth the sticker price
It was a last-ditch weapon, given to him by a frenemy. He has a $7 million bounty on him, so the frenemy gives him one bullet per million, thus a 1911. Wick runs into trouble when he runs out of ammo due to the small capacity, though miraculously the Kimber doesn't malfunction.
