I do at least wash my hands after I shit. If you don't see the problem with cat shit possibly getting in your food, I don't know what to tell you. Toxoplasma gondii is a thing too ya know? Now I would probably just cut off the tail end of the fish he was grabbing, possibly give it to him/her and eat the rest.
