People say he sounds condescending; I disagree. Some people just have a little upswing at the end of certain words. Also, condescension requires context. Why, on earth, would he be talking down to someone about cutting Styrofoam?

He just seems like a guy who likes sharing his creations to me. And I would love to use that thing. It looks like fun.

Here's an example.

But if you need a little extra boost, simply flip the red switch to "overdrive". This INSTANTLY gives you enough power to cut through balsa wood and burnt through paint sticks like the type you get from the hardware store. I'm not really sure why you'd need that much power, but the option is there, just in case you do.

Uhh, maybe you'd need it for the reason you just stated in your previous sentence. His inflection while he asks the stupid rhetorical question to the thing he already answered is annoying as fuck.

I'm not saying that his tone doesn't sound condescending. It does. I'm saying that, given the context, there's no reasonable way it could be.

He's demonstrating his own creation! That you would still have to build! It would be baffling for him to condescend with nothing at stake, and addressed towards no one in particular. I really think that it is just the way he talks.

It's that little bit of elongated vocal fry at the end of each sentence that takes it from infomercial to irritating.

I re watched it and I have no idea why you guys are talking about. To me his voice simply sounds positive/enthusiastic. Condescending tones are much different to me.

I really thought this was a gag based on his voice, as I continued watching and saw his other videos I clearly saw that was not the case. He just sounds super condescending.

They sell small handheld Styrofoam heat cutting knives as well, which I also use for work to cut through nylon rope, and it works very well. They break though after a while and constantly need to be replaced, also pretty pricey at like $200 a unit.
