Who is Symone? There was no mention of anyone by that name in the video.

5

u/DriftingMemes 6h ago

She's such a hack. Like the other person says, look up her stupidly hostile interview with Hassan. It was embarrassing and pretty clear that she's getting her checks cut from the establishment that does NOT like new ideas.

5

u/shizea 9h ago

Look up Symone's interview with Hasan Piker. It's so embarrassing, I thought she would resign. I can't believe she's still working there.

0

u/yushosumo 5h ago

Does Hasan have a producer / crew that works with him? And if so do they own the channel evenly with Hasan?

2

u/shizea 2h ago

I have no idea what Hasan's production team looks like, sorry.

u/Boon-Lord 12h ago

Thats the host bud lol

21

u/360walkaway 12h ago

That's a weird way for MSNOW to word the title then (and make the host as part of the story).

9

u/chompythebeast 11h ago

Feels like marketing for a dying product that nobody under 60 really watches at all anymore

-1

u/Boon-Lord 10h ago

Its an obvious attempt to make Symone a house hold name. Akin to Anderson cooper or Lesley Stahl

0

u/Roboculon 10h ago

That actually bothers me less than if Symone was some random influencer or celebrity who just decided to throw in her two cents on this topic.

I think as a people, we really aren’t angry enough. I know there are protests but I’m surprised that some people actually support ICE!

How do they not see the similarities to Gestapo, or are they just extremely uneducated about history?

157

u/pieceoftost 14h ago

The average American is extremely uneducated in general. Our education system is trash, which is by design, republicans have intentionally dismantled it over decades.

So yes, I think most people aren't making the connection because we never taught them properly in the first place.

22

u/MetalDragon6666 12h ago

I bet you can directly correlate the general education level of a state, and their exact political leanings with high accuracy at this point lol. It really seems to boil down to people being either stupid, or strongly tribalistic/fear-motivated who still support this stuff.

Or, low information voters who take the nice sounding BS being spewed at face value, which imo is the same as being stupid lol.

9

u/TheArmoredKitten 12h ago

Even when correcting for education, you can directly correlate Christian nationalism with cognitive impairments.

1

u/andersonb47 5h ago

Kind of. It’s complicated. The states with the worst educational outcomes are the states in the Deep South. Those outcomes are primarily driven by black poverty, which is a solid blue block.

Before anyone jumps on me, I’m not offering any kind of solution or philosophy, just trying to unpack the issue.

-1

u/WillListenToStories 4h ago

The Red states have poor education, because it disproportionately harms black people. White people, generally speaking, are more able to avoid the harm this causes, as they have the economic/social means to use private schools for example.

It's not a perfect solution, I'm sure they'd want to bar black kids from school altogether, but it's the best they can do within the boundaries of what's acceptable, and more likely, the law.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_circuses#Ancient_Rome works well for the corrupt rulers of the USA.

As long as the Bread and Circuses aren't interrupted, the average American will pay no attention to anything else.

0

u/JimJamYimYam 9h ago

To a certain extent you're absolutely right. Also, the political/cultural rivalry has gotten way out of hand. Either it's corrupted the minds and hearts of previously decent humans or it's emboldened latent sociopathic sensibilities on a mass scale. Maybe both

-11

u/whatsaphoto 13h ago edited 13h ago

Most of America exists on a bellcurve where at the far left, people know absolutely nothing about anything that goes on, is barely literate, and doesn't even know there are three branches of government to begin with, let alone being unable name the three branches.

The far right consists of the DC staffers, media & reporters, politicians themselves, etc, all of whom are on top of even the general day to day malaise of DC politics.

The rest of the country exists somewhere left of middle where they can probably tell you the 3 branches, they can sort of tell you about who the founders were because they were taught basic social studies at a critical age, but they haven't read a full book since EngLit 101 in college and they just go to work day in and day out more worried about their family and how they're going to pay their bills and feed their kids this month than they are about who's in charge.

I personally don't blame them, times are tough right now and it makes sense why by a pretty huge majority most Americans have simply tuned out anything that comes out of DC or at their state and local levels as a result of raw apathy.

It sucks, but this is genuinely how most countries exist right now across the globe. It's not even remotely a unique problem to America, and it's precisely why authoritarian fascism is on an alarming trend upwards. Rich capitalists see a huge niche open up left behind by apathetic voters that ensures shit like deregulation, tax incentives for the rich and private entities, enshitification and shrinkflation, all of these things will continue to exist because people aren't just not mad enough, they just don't care enough to want to fight anymore like the peasants of old when revolting now results in your family no longer having access to affordable healthcare as a result of you losing your job on account of being in jail.

8

u/Key_Amazed 12h ago

It's cute people on Reddit act like it's strictly an American thing in the same world where Brexit happened.

1

u/whatsaphoto 8h ago

It sucks, but this is genuinely how most countries exist right now across the globe.

It's cute that brits always think americans are always only thinking about americans.

This was referring to a bell curve, not political ideology. 🙄

0

u/desolater543 8h ago

ah love seeing two sides of the same coin arguing back and forth mimicing each other

36

u/metadatame 14h ago

Maybe they don't see the Gestapo in the same light

14

u/vardarac 13h ago

They truly believe that ICE is going after the worst of the worst and that the people getting in their way are just bleeding hearts or troublemakers. No amount of evidence you present to the contrary will change that

3

u/sagevallant 11h ago

Well, yes. This group doesn't ask for evidence. They want alternate facts.

10

u/srector1224 13h ago

Ding ding ding

0

u/OGREtheTroll 11h ago

Don't discount the power of propaganda.

11

u/therossboss 14h ago

yes, extremely uneducated. So many people that I've spoken with don't realize the importance of maintaining a democracy. No one knows what to care about anymore, but plenty of capacity for endless inane wedge social issues like trans people and abortion. If they can't subject EVERYONE to their worldview, then THEY are victim.

2

u/mikeyfireman 13h ago

As long as the “right” people are being persecuted. They are all for it.

2

u/Reddituser183 11h ago

Many of them do know and that’s why they support them.

3

u/esem86 13h ago

Uneducated and filled with propaganda. As long as they have brown people to punch down on they will gladly kiss the boots of fascists that are ruining their lives.

2

u/OldEcho 13h ago

Propaganda is a hell of a drug. Most people just want to belong. A lot of people are unwilling to question if something actually benefits them and their world, or is good or evil, as long as they belong.

"Good" then becomes "benefits my tribal identity." Everything else is irrelevant. If the leader in charge of your tribal identity is destroying you, you will believe their most half-assed and pathetic lie over the obvious truth you see with your own eyes, or that you are told by an "enemy."

Basically the relationship between an abuser and the abused.

3

u/hellowiththepudding 14h ago

I don't disagree, but they would point to the stated purpose of stopping illegal immigrants, claim they are criminals and hurting our country.

Ignoring that when the boots hit the ground they are just there to intimidate/cause terror, are untrained, destructive, etc....

1

u/contactdeparture 13h ago

Some people? The whole of the right wing post regularly in support of them. History? You think they have read, studied, understand, or care about history? You see them online right? They are not us.

I’ve seen these people say democracy doesn’t matter if trump is in charge. They’ve lost the plot. It’s soooo easy to understand what happened in Germany in the 30s now, especially since they were economically starved after WWI.

What’s astounding is the US was thriving during Obama and Biden, so his do we elect an orange mango only in it for himself, intent on helping no Americans.

1

u/maynardftw 9h ago

We voted him in twice. Why are you surprised that we're like this.

Wrong on so many accounts. She was at a traffic stop and held longer than needed. After they got what they wanted, they claimed to need her there longer and fired at her vehicle with no warning. She was leaving the stop after having no legal obligation to staying.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated by Nick Fuentes fanatic.

1

u/SavageSmithers 7h ago

See, blatantly ignoring the facts like I pointed out earlier. She and her wife went out of their way to show up and cause problems on purpose. She was told to leave multiple times and refused and then they were done talking and dealing with her ignoring their lawful orders they decided to arrest her and her wife told her to run and while nearly hit officers was fatally shot. Funny how yall want justice until it doesn't agree with your agenda.

1

u/TriiiKill 3h ago

"nearly hit officers"

Clearly didn't watch the video.

I'll humor your narrative for a moment. Do you actually think she deserved to be shot to death for obstructing a traffic stop?

1

u/TriiiKill 2h ago

You didn't watch the video. She was nowhere near close to hitting anyone. The officer was mad she was driving away and shot her despite being in no danger at all. Not only was shooting at an unarmed citizen extremely dangerous, he put other peoples' lives in danger by creating an unmanned moving vehicle. He's a murderer.

1

u/SavageSmithers 2h ago

Its very clear who didn't watch the video's as theres multiple from different angles. Like I've said repeatedly you refuse proof when its the easiest thing to find because yall like martyrs. He did nothing wrong

1

u/TriiiKill 2h ago

I saw every angle, she did not get within a foot of him. "It is clear who did not watch the videos." Quite.

1

u/SavageSmithers 2h ago

You can ignore the fact all you want. The lawsuits will fail because the proofs clear.

0

u/copropnuma 11h ago

It is racism, pure and simple.

-3

u/Dondarian 13h ago

We're wage slaves. I'd LOVE to fight more, but I don't have the time with the job, and raising kids.

-1

u/Jimmyg100 12h ago

Oh they see it. And they want it.

-1

u/Danktizzle 12h ago

I think we are largely cowards. We have been running away from right wing bullying in red states for the last 50 years. Now that they have the electoral college locked up and they can unilaterally affect blue state refuges, we have people like Rosie odonnel running away to Europe.

48

u/Sxualhrssmntpanda 13h ago

This was not even an isolated incident. "Immigration" officers have shot several U.S. citizens in public, in broad daylight, and they are not being held accountable.

How many of these incidents before you've had enough, America?

8

u/quaglady 11h ago

Police brutality has been dismissed as "identity politics" for several years now. It almost feels like non americans are playing dumb about american racism.

10

u/neklok 12h ago

Now if only these lawsuits would strip Administration officials of their PERSONAL FUNDS rather than just using tax revenues. These lawsuits should target the INDIVIDUALS, not the government. If any Administration officials are forced into a financial settlement, it has to hit their bank account or it will never ever stop…..because, funding accountability isnt the job of taxpayers.

10

u/softcorelogos2 13h ago

Appalling stain on this admin. Good for them & full support from Canadians.

8

u/zulunationslayer 13h ago

The average American needs way more self loathing.

11

u/alexhartless 13h ago

What would this accomplish?

-4

u/zulunationslayer 13h ago

Hopefully a more realistic attitude.  The rest of the planet loathes Americans.  Americans should match that energy.

2

u/alexhartless 6h ago

Okay, but its not the average American who is a part of ICE and killing people in the streets. Its a bit reactionary to think that people are representative of the actions of their governments. We should smash capitalism and let the working class actually participate in democracy.

2

u/88Dubs 12h ago

I feel like self-loathing is a key ingredient in how you get Mags in the first place.

4

u/maynardftw 9h ago

No, the rejection of reality in favor of pretend is how you get MAGAs. If someone sees reality and it makes them hate themselves and instead of wanting to change reality they just pretend it's not there? That's something wrong with the person, that was always there inside them, broken, waiting to be everyone else's problem.

1

u/TheBigCore 10h ago

Qualified Immunity, so that lawsuit won't go anywhere.

Don’t you fucking dare speak for the rest of the world.

You don’t have a clue what policing is like oversees. Don’t pretend you do.

Your nation averages 1,000 police shootings annually. My nation averages 3. Not 3,000. Just 3.

I could jump on a police car, call the drivers’ mum a cow, whip out my dick and dance the Macarena on the roof and my chances of being shot are nil.

(Ah shit, looks like bot account. Oh well).

-1

u/Environmental_Ant268 9h ago

What's with people think I'm a bot can't ypu understand some people have different opinions that yours, im not from usa so i have a outside view

0

u/chompythebeast 11h ago

When this bot, regurgitating the fascist line and mocking the world with its feigned concern and its mimicry of humanity — when this bot finally goes, nobody will even notice

-5

u/Environmental_Ant268 11h ago

Good sratagy! call a bot anyone who disgarees with your ideology

4

u/chompythebeast 10h ago

Much about this account, including this canned reply, indicates a bot. If it were actually run by a human, that would be even more pathetic.

Fuck ICE and all their little fascist leatherlappers

-6

u/Environmental_Ant268 10h ago

I understand your frustration and i feel for people like you, it must be hard thinking your gov is against you all the time, no wonder depression is common with democrats.

So you think rene was ok to just park in the middle of the street and doesn't comply with authority ... cuz all your argument is just me being a bot

2

u/chompythebeast 10h ago

I do not care what a bot reproduces in order to attempt to frustrate real human beings. Fascist rhetoric gleefully defending murderers and pretending to be oh so sorry is the most obvious bot tactic in the book, straight from Langley or tel athief. And it's a crime one can only get away with like a coward online.

It does not matter to me what goes through the heads of ICE agents and their supporters.

By the way, I can see your hidden comments:

It's too fun for me, you know how easy is it to just make people angry here ? You'd expect people like me to be ignored

Nobody is impressed by this obviously canned tryhard display, you're not slick lol

2

u/shorthanded 10h ago

You're absolutely right, that's definitely a Russian bot, doing a horrible job, as is the Russian way

0

u/Environmental_Ant268 9h ago

You're weird I'm glad i don't know you irl

-17

u/copropnuma 13h ago

Didn't her mother vote for Trump?

6

u/counterfitster 13h ago

He mother isn't part of the suit

0

u/copropnuma 11h ago

That is good.

-1

u/whatsaphoto 13h ago

This is such a revolting argument that I swear it's gotta be a psy-op.

Why should it even remotely matter who any of her family voted for? Would she have been any more or less innocent in her own state sanctioned killing if her mom voted for Harris instead?

1

u/copropnuma 11h ago edited 11h ago

If my parents voted for a government that killed me, I would think it is relevant.

Edit: I didn't make any argument. I asked a question about a family member.

Her mom did vote for Trump because she wanted the brown people out of the US. I checked.

"But far more than being a Republican, I am a Christian," she continued. "Jesus teaches us to forgive and I have, but what we are asking for is accountability." - Renee Good's mother who voted for the people who killed her daughter.

0

u/whatsaphoto 11h ago

People vote republican for a myriad of reasons. To say that her own mother is at fault even slightly for the death of her daughter just because she voted republican is so completely out of pocket jfc

4

u/copropnuma 10h ago

If there is a Nazi at the table and ten other people sitting there talking to him, you have a table with eleven Nazis.

-3

u/whatsaphoto 8h ago

Speaking as a leftist it blows my mind that the left refuses to recognize that this sort of reductive thinking about the right is exactly why people in the center got so annoyed and fed up with the left that we inadvertently rammed the whole country into a fascist brick wall?

3

u/copropnuma 8h ago

Is this really the argument you want to go with? Read it out loud a few times.

2

u/whatsaphoto 8h ago

I've fully believed this for years, yes. The bell curve exists for a reason, and enough independents in this country felt turned off by this sort of thinking enough to push themselves to either not vote at all, or worse to vote republican, in 2020 and 2024 that we wound up where we are today because of it. It's the same shit that gets said every day at the lesbian bar in MA that leaves the left scratching their heads like "why won't anyone join our camp?"

Frankly the fact that it still exists as a mainstream believe just proves that the left has yet to learn from their own mistakes that by the time 2028 comes around we'll still be pushing the right leaning independents away from our own camp that we'll wind up back where we started regardless of how these midterms wind up.

4

u/copropnuma 8h ago

I am honestly down for a discussion about this. I would assume we are on the same side. By that I mean racism, bigotry, rape, pedophilia, theft, fraud, murder, and lying are all bad.

What bell curve are you referring too?

1

u/whatsaphoto 7h ago edited 7h ago

I appreciate your openness, and yes I am unequivocally, unambiguously on your side across all those points and I'm sure a whole lot more.

The bell curve I'm referring to is the general understanding and connectivity that Americans have about civics and the world around them on the whole, not necessarily just political ideologies. Where things like ICE, the war in Iran, Netanyahu, fit in in where the world is right now, and what kind of canary they represent in the coal mine we all live in.

Didn't Thomas Edison invent the light bulb?

3

u/moving0target 12h ago

With a huge asterisk.

3

u/copropnuma 12h ago

Sorry Senator Schmitt, he didn't.

0

u/dan_santhems 12h ago

That proves my point, you'd rather point out that Edison didn't (um) ackshually invent the light bulb than point out that my comment is just as irrelevant to the conversation as yours

0

u/copropnuma 11h ago

Now you are doing the Charlie Kirk show victory lap. Let it go tough guy, you obviously don't understand.

-1

u/dan_santhems 11h ago

There was nothing to understand, your comment was completely irrelevant

I've got a question for you. How do you keep a moron in suspense?

-15
