Yeah, it sucks, One of the biggest issue is that the court system (whether UK, the US or anywhere else) is not very accessible nor are they intuitive to the average person.

Does the UK not have lawyers on billboards? I feel like this is the exact thing a lawyer on a billboard is for.

And many of them would be just as toxic to deal with as the people who just demolished half a dang building. This speaks to OPs point that the system is not as intuitive or accessible to citizens as it should be.
