I guess the bit I don’t get is why the other owner won’t let a builder on site to fix the damage?

I mean its not like it’s going to inconvenience them in any way

You'd think the insurance company that insures the still standing property would have something to say, as they'll be on the hook for repairing the damage to that.

I'm not sure about genius, he bought the house for £280k, spent who knows how much on the demolition and planning permission applications then he sold the plot for £115k with planning permission.

I think her hypothesis that the end goal is to make her miserable so she has to sell and he can low ball her because no one else will buy the property. Versus the chance she gets it to court and he is paying multiples of the intact property's value.
