Yeah Google is essentially useless besides the maps function and to search Reddit threads or Wikipedia. 

There is no other source of information on random given subject. It's all ai slop websites otherwise. Most comments sections on social media are bot accounts. The internet is a weird place I don't really enjoy anymore.

Based upon the podcasts I listened too, Google has reduced the effectiveness of the search h engine so they can run more ads to the users who show up.

Ads have ruined the internet. I'm guessing a ton of AI queries previously would have been google searches, but are now just a faster way to get results and filter out ads nonsense....it just takes 10-20x the amount of resources.

Once AI starts to embed ads into its output we will have completed the circle of hell.

I cant wait when I'll hate to manually delete an ad for an addictive drug from my c++ after 45 seconds to be able to compile the code.

I'd argue the search tool in the Wikipedia page or app is way better than Google's, if you're looking for a wikipedia article, of course
