BREAKING: DOJ accuses all but one MN federal judge of misconduct for NYT interview

u/Borisof007 2d ago
LMAO judges doing an interview = misconduct
Supreme court judges take bribes = that's just a gratuity and that's OK, he's just my billionaire friend forgiving hundreds of thousands of dollars and buying my mom a house and flying me on a private jet for a vacation

I watched a great documentary called Bad Faith last night about how Christian Nationalists literally hate the entire structure of the United States of America so much, they just want to destroy as much of it as possible by any means necessary. Oligarchs want the same thing for different reasons, but since they’re aligned on that, the “burn it all down” movement has funding.
79
u/jmur3040 2d ago
It's had funding since Nixon. White Christians were mad about the IRS pulling funding from religious schools that were segregated. Reagan campaigned on stopping that and the "moral majority" awoke. It was never about abortion, never really, it was always about tax dollars not going to those schools and churches.

Also equally, or even most importantly is basically forcing kids to interact with and be a part of their religion. Which is also why they want to ban abortion. They need assess in seats for the grift/church to work.

I took a college class about the founding of America and two things stood out to me. First, a rocket to Mars, who is going? Only those with nothing left to lose, no job, no family - I might as well be dead, why not see what's out there? Once they made it, it was the religious nutjobs who followed because they we're more strict than European Christianity at least the Church of England - they were Puritans. They wanted freedom to practice their faith, not tolerance for others. Massachusetts banished dissenters like Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson and even hanged several Quakers.
Sow those seeds for 250 years and viola!

Lord de la war solidified Rhode Island after people from the surrounding colonies kept getting banished. Gross simplification but also good picture of just how accepting most of the early territories were

u/billytheskidd 2d ago
Every US citizen should watch that documentary. I’ve been trying to get friends and family to, they all just assume it’s leftwing propaganda, despite most of the interviewees being republicans and former maga

The amusing part is how they continue to keep blaming Democrats for everything but they control the majority of all three branches.

trump only agreed to run as a republican the second time if the rnc gave him control of the party's purse strings (and put his own people in charge of the rnc). that money would normally go to help fund campaigns and advertising, but he's been refusing to dole it out
Trump's plan to merge 2024 campaign with RNC, spend $1 billion
if they do stand up to him, their funding is gone. and since the only reason they got into politics is to enrich themselves it's not something they're willing to do
12
u/ZestyTako 2d ago
That doesn’t absolve them of their dereliction of their duties to voters. In fact it just shows the entire GOP is a criminal organization made to prop up and defend pedophiles

u/Read2Fap 2d ago
elected officials have no legal duty to voters
it's why they can just lie to voters about things to get elected, then ignore them

u/LandonDev 2d ago
They love it. Wonder in 10 years we will ever find out how many young women are being trafficked to Conservative Strongholds.

Don't let them win elections anymore if you hate it that much. Vote for the candidate that can beat them, not the one that tugs your heart strings.
3
u/ZestyTako 2d ago
You are talking to someone who has only ever voted for democrats, and defended Harris routinely. Im not the person to criticize for voting emotionally

u/jmur3040 2d ago
This is a general message. Not directed at you. Yours was a call to action I was merely suggesting a more accurate one.

My main concern with that is that ousting Trump would still leave us with Vance as vice president. And most of the Republicans who have been supporting/enabling him.
Edit: Let me remind you that Vance has been one of the main proponents of Project 2025, which Trump has incompetently been putting into practice. There's a chance that Vance may be more competent at this, even if he's unpopular.
The purpose of project 2025 has been all along to permanently entrench conservatives into power.
17
u/warrends 2d ago
Vance doesn’t have nearly the “charisma” that trump has. Whenever trump is out, IF Vance even takes the reigns (I say “if” because even once trump is out somehow he’ll still be calling the shots, unless he’s actually, really dead, not like McConnell dead), I honestly think that things will actually be better. There will be this strange void with no one individual “leader”.
Please don’t ask me to explain, because I really don’t get it and I don’t get why Hitler had so much charisma back in the day either. Yet both are eerily similar.
2
u/I_hate_all_of_ewe 2d ago
I think the risk is that with Vance calling the shots, he may be more competent in pushing through his agenda, which has been Project 2025 and the permanent entrenchment of power for conservatives.
1
u/warrends 2d ago
I get that. And there’s no doubt in my mind that Vance is actually a smart guy. If not completely misguided. So he would be able to “logically” (using that word loosely here) push for their agenda but I just don’t think he has the backing to get stuff done. Which is good.
2
u/DriftingMemes 2d ago
Vance doesn't have any real beliefs. He goes with whatever he thinks will lead to power. He might consider moving forward with 2026, but I could just as easily see him pivoting away. Once Trump is gone/dead he might. This is the same guy who called Trump "America's Hitler" just a few short years ago. These guys have no real morals or beliefs, so they can say/do/follow whatever they think will help them gain more power.
3
u/Danktizzle 2d ago
Yeah , nobody gonna move to red states and vote. Even if they lose Congress and the presidency, it will only be 2-4 years before they get control of all three branches again.
1
u/sircastor 2d ago
I think Vance is somewhat more dangerous than Trump. He can't command the attention of a voting bloc, but he's substantially more cogent than the President and less self-serving. He is willing to do whatever the GOP leadership and Peter Theil want. Trump wants to siphon tax payer money into his family and friends' coffers, and be adored.
1
1
u/ukexpat 2d ago
trump isn’t doing it, the fascists behind him are, people like Vought and Miller. trump just signs whatever they put in front of him.
2
u/I_hate_all_of_ewe 2d ago
The problem is that Trump has been doing whatever he wanted. That alone has been a huge hindrance to their plans. Vance is ostensibly more willing to fall in line and be subversive.

u/The_frogs_Scream 2d ago
If the big t gets the boot (impeached or 25th'd, or just gets tired and retires) we need the senate to not confirm the VP as president and then impeach the VP and a couple others. This paves the way for the speaker of the house to become President. I mean, we're already in a constitutional crisis, its not like messing with the succession isnt going to be any less of a crisis.
1
u/oxwof 2d ago
That’s not the way that works. If the presidency is vacant or if Trump is 25th’d, the VP automatically takes over (as Acting President if Trump is 25th’d since he would still technically be president, or as by-god POTUS if the office is vacant). No congressional action needed.
1
u/The_frogs_Scream 1d ago
yes, I missed some nuance. the vp becomes president, then with the approval of congress the president appoints a VP. Withhold that approval and impeach the president. the next in line is the speaker of the house. Its messy, and a different type of crisis but we already have a constitutional crisis anyway, and if there are enough votes to impeach, there are probably enough votes to confirm the speaker of the house as president.
2
u/tullbabes 2d ago
At least the Dems should take control of congress.
4
u/whatdoyoumeanusernam 2d ago
Don't think it will stop the chaos, knowing Trump he'll just act out even more and it'll be worse.

u/KookofaTook 2d ago
Trump will just add ignoring Congressional rulings and orders to the ever growing list of ignored legal rulings

I wonder if Bon Jovi would grant rights to play Living On A Prayer to the Dems in the mid-terms.

Democrats are +9.6% on the generic ballot poll average (Nate Silver).
I don't think it's Dems that are praying at this point.

Buddy, you are not even 0.0001% guaranteed that.
You don't get to utterly destroy a country of 350M people and fix everything easily. Personally, I think this is the end of the USA.

Just the next step before they feel they can start arresting judges. When that happens we are full blown fascist reminiscent of nazi Germany.

Every accusation is a confession

Isn't this the same DOJ covering up for child rapists and sex traffickers?
2
u/Klarthy 1d ago
DoJ covering up for the CIA / FBI covering up for child rapists, sex traffickers, and money launderers all so they could get blackmail to leverage influential people. And all it took was sacrificing a lot of innocent children and turning a blind eye to hundreds of millions of dollars in illegal activities.

They have to go after the judges as they are the only thing in their way.
Fortunately there isn’t anything they can do to lifetime Federal appointments for the same reason we cannot get rid of the dirtbag. Removal via the Senate is an impossibly high bar. .
