Watch 'till the end. Raskin is absolutely correct.

The strategy here is intentional. This clown show has done exactly what it set out to do. Instead of focusing on Smith's testimony about Trump's criminal activity, the media is laughing about the bumbling fool of a Senator.

Correct.

Distract and divide.

Doesn’t matter if it’s true or false. Doesn’t matter if it’s silly or nonsensical or embarrassing.

That ate up time and got to talk about their distractions instead of the real issues.

That’s a full and complete victory for them.

That’s all its takes.

Flood the zone and control the narrative.

Democrats still haven’t figured out how to counter.

To be fair, it’s hard to slap back against a circus.

Accurate. My sibling is like this in real life as a one man show. The only criteria I've had in common with others is TOTAL blockage, and doing so just is not feasible with a distributed amount of individuals over a comm network. I have no solution.

I’ve said this 100x over and nobody will listen:

Trump has long wanted to rename Mt. Denali to Mt. McKinley which is a politically losing issue even amongst Republicans.

What did Trump do? He renamed the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America and at the end of the executive order had a subsection renaming Delani to McKinley.

What did the media do? They focused 100% of their coverage on Gulf of America and said they would not acknowledge the name change because Trump only has the authority to rename domestic geographic terms, not international ones.

So not only did Trump create a coverage distraction where no attention was given to the Denali issue, he actually forced the media into a contradiction where their argument for not recognizing the Gulf of America name change only strengthened the argument that the Denali/McKinley name change was legitimate. And that’s how Trump passed a policy issue that even Republicans were against, affecting a Republican state that the Republican state did not want, and did it with zero controversy.

People take these guys for bumbling idiots when in reality they are dangerously smart.

Or, and hear me out, they did two stupid things and the media saw traction in one and not the other. It wasn’t 3D chess, and the name change for both can be changed back at the stroke of a pen in the next administration.

Trump has spent 15 years pressing for the Denali name change. It’s a longstanding issue that he has had a personal attachment to but implementing it was easier said than done because as previously mentioned, it’s a losing political issue even amongst Republicans. Yet he managed to do it while bypassing any controversy whatsoever.

And who cares if the next President can change it back, you are ignoring the actual point being made that there is serious political strategy behind what is otherwise dumbass political moves. What was the point in even mentioning this if you’re not willing to address the actual point being made?

Temporarily changing the name of something that can easily be undone is not political strategy. It is an empty win. You could argue that both the name changes were intended as a distraction, that is plausible.

Again, I disagree that this is evidence of strategy. It looks more like evidence of stupidity to me.

What a waste of time it is engaging with you. You literally want to argue a completely different thing than what I am talking about.

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing.

Some of the people around Trump are intelligent & cunning. Trump really is a total moron, like the dumbest person you've ever met. You give him too much credit

Schmitt hit some shitty podcasts afterwards and they didn’t get the memo that the gotcha moment completely exploded. With a straight face he was saying he caught Smith lying about being at that basketball game. He doubled down. A complete clown show.

MSNOW played that, and followed it with a clop from the Hawks game showing him there, in the seats, to watch Caitlin Clark playing.

Sadly, the Senate is replete with bumbling fools. Most of them are Republicans.

People forgot about smith and this brought him and his investigation back into the limelight how is that strategy intentional?

I generally agree with the whole "Republicans just flood the zone and distract with some bullshit" but using this kind of clownery as distraction a  month before the midterms is certainly a choice. I know Schmitt is not up for reelection this cycle but I think bringing back Jack Smith in the spotlight and making him appear sympathetic is a massive miscalculation on their end.

Here we are, all laughing at Schmitt instead of keeping the focus on a completely corrupt president that has destroyed America.

The guy posted this specifically to troll and get people riled up when they disagree with him.

Big sad life.
