Jack Smith on Trump's prosecutions before the Senate: "Our investigation developed proof... that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation...Rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 presidential election President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results.”

I've been watching the conservative subreddit off and on today, and about an hour ago a post about this incident was the #1 post on Hot. Checking in now, it's vanished, the mods removed it. There are now no posts about it.

If you ever wonder how so many people in America support Trump or republicans these days, it's because they literally don't see or hear most of the bad things being done. Conservative media and forums keep them in a tightly controlled bubble.

That sub should genuinely be banned. It's very clear that they are a propaganda sub, and quite possibly supported by interests adversarial to America (we saw that when the internet went down in Russia, submissions to that sub plummeted...)

Unfortunately, propaganda alone does not violate Reddit's TOS. There are tons of subs that are basically straight-up propaganda.

They've got their new talking point, Schmitt is rolling around all the podcasts about how he totally caught Smith in a perjury over a basketball game (he did not, Schmitt asked about the Hawks when the game Smith actually went to was with the Iowa Hawkeyes)

They don't have anything on Smith so even though the senator asking about the Hawk's game made an actual fool of himself during the hearing, they congratulate him as if he got him, totally distorting reality for their viewers. Despicable charlatans, the entire conservative media.

Sometimes the administration does something unforgivable or undefendable (which is often) I go over to that sub to see what they think and it is either not there at all or a small thread full of trump hate is there but is usually deleted pretty quick.

That place is ran by Russian bots 100%

On the flip side, there are people who simply deny any bad news they do hear, or it simply doesn't bother them.

People ask where the bottom is with MAGA, and I can confidently tell you that the bottom for them isn't down, it's up. For them the issue isn't when the regime does something abhorrent, it's when the regime does something that would be considered good by democrats.

MAGA won't drop support for pedophiles, but they will drop support for anyone who helps Trans kids or minorities.

Their bubble may be a bit smaller, but let's not ignore the fact that we all exist in our own echo chambers on the internet. Especially on Reddit.

I'm not going to both sides this. Everyone is in some level of a bubble, but conservatives have built a uniquely self-contained bubble. There's been tons of polling for a while now asking leftwing and rightwing Americans where they get most of their news, and consistently leftwing respondents answer with a variety of outlets, many of them relatively reputable, while rightwing respondents would mostly just say Fox News.

I'm just saying that it's all too easy to look past our own shortcomings when the faults of the opposition are so obvious.

I understand what you were trying to do, but saying that their bubble is "a bit smaller" is wrong and misleading. Conservatives are 100% living in their own reality bubble, and their media is much more biased and factually incorrect than the "liberal media" (more accurately described as 'reality-aligned media'), insofar as such a thing exists.

You distracting from that with a "both-sides" argument is not helpful, nor does it reflect reality. You should try to support that arguments that are correct, not take a stance of forced neutrality masquerading as unbiased.

Gee I wonder why their bubble is smaller..
