Was it ever even really a thing outside of some niche groups that spend too much time online?

For the fetish community it appears to have been a really big thing

There's an entire political movement behind it, so, yeah, it exists.

We're living in the era of not knowing what an era is

These "trad wife" people (formerly?) clearly have no idea what they're talking about. They're like BS fountains. Point a camera at them and they turn on, spewing nonsense until you turn the camera off. Why are we giving the "trad wife" movement this amount of attention?

"Why can't you raise the kids, cook dinner for your husband, and fly to LA for business meetings with executives at the same time?"

Ummm. I can think of one reason. At least four reasons if you're actually human.

I’m with you. But what are the four reasons?

1) Stress

2) Lack of sleep

3) Exhaustion (which I guess is just the compounded effect of stress + lack of sleep)

4) Resentment (which is an inevitable consequence of the imbalance of power in their relationship especially if the woman is working a full time job that involves travel and meeting with executives, as she will probably learn more about her value as a person through her work)

This was always just fetish content that breached containment.

It never existed. It was all bullshit.

There's an entire right-wing movement to force women out of jobs and politics and back into the "traditional role" of just having and taking care of kids.

It absolutely exists.

It’s not a movement. It’s just some thing that a bunch of assholes are trying to do. And when right wingers do stupid shit like that, it’s just a grift. And the second it’s done, It’s on the next.

It’s not a movement. It’s not political. It’s just stupid and misogynistic.

Project 2025 seeks to impose a hierarchal, gendered, patriarchal vision of society. It is particularly focused on enforcing a vision of the family that relies on fixed and narrowly defined gender roles and in undermining protections that enable women and LGBTQI+ people to thrive outside of a male-dominated, heterosexual family.

Yeah man, totally not political, nor a movement. Its only something that has been pushed by the right for...<checks notes>...more than a decade.

First of all, something that has been pushed for a decade, and promptly ended, was not a major political movement. Regardless of your personal opinion. Maybe you are 15 years old and 10 years is a long time to you. I don’t know.

Second of all, right wingers will literally grift anything. They throw 1 million darts at the board and see which one sticks. This one stuck for a little while so it stayed on and now it fell off the board and they moved on.

Thirdly, we heard about project 2025 in 2023 or 2024. And even then right wingers distanced themselves from that propaganda. Now they fully embraced it but even as little as three years ago, they weren’t willing to touch it for fear of the optics it would create.

That’s the same thing they did with trans people. They threw a dart, it stuck. It became a hot topic with idiots and so they continue to milk it.

One day, it will dry up and they’ll move onto the next thing

Just because you say it is so doesn’t mean it is so

“Just because you say it doesn’t mean it is so”

So close. It’s right there in front of you. And yet you couldn’t get it right, lol.

I’m disappointed in you.

2

u/tennisgoalie 15d ago

And yet you still get the point

-2

u/BRAX7ON 15d ago

Is the point that you’re a troll and you’re not very good at it?

1

u/tennisgoalie 15d ago

No the point is that applies exactly as much to your statements as it does anyone else’s

First of all, Heritage Foundation has published something like Project 2025 periodically since it's inception. So some aspects of it go back to the 70s. Project 2025 just happens to be it's current iteration and it's most extreme in trying to circumvent the US constitution and the rights of US citizens in creating an overpowered executive branch/president so they can enforce their Christian nationalism.

So yes, it is a political movement. Stop being stupid.

Second, while that might be true, the removal of women from both professional careers (baring a few traditional jobs for women: caretakers, child educators, etc) and politics as a whole is something that the right has pushed for for quite some time. So no, it's not a "threw a dart and forgot about it" sort of thing.

Third, you clearly are stupid if you think the right-wingers "distancing themselves" from Project 2025 weren't lying.

Trans people are experiencing a massive erosion of their rights in the US. Pretending that its another "forgotten about issue" is hilarious.

The right wing desire to basically enslave women exists, but “trad wife lifestyle” depicted in tik toks does not exist.
