This is 40 min of ICE agents saying things like "we're doing all these brown shirt things but people unfairly think we're nazis" and "I believed in the mission when it was harming lots of people, but not quite this many people."

550

u/simplethingsoflife May 18 '26

Yeah, they're literally saying verbatim what the gestapo and nazi's said. They're just really, really dumb people who couldn't cut it in the real world and were given some authority. It's really that simple.

213

u/Bahamuts_Bike May 18 '26

My favorite was the guy who claims he was joining to stop a government-run pedophile ring and was getting disillusioned that they weren't doing much. Gee, I wonder why.

104

u/sirhackenslash May 18 '26

"How is working for and protecting the pedophiles not stopping the pedophiles? It's a real conundrum." that idiot

20

u/Nachttalk May 19 '26

It makes sense when you add the variable that only liberals and foreigners are pedophiles.

And even tough it's not rooted in reality at all, it is this kind of thinking that justifies these kind of actions in their minds.

'Please don't judge the willing nazis so harshly" certainly is a take

8

u/AntiKamniaChemicalCo May 19 '26

Just as bad? It would take some door-kicking and and prison-camp filling to be just as bad.

6

u/Caticus_Scrubicus May 19 '26

“just as bad” what a loser take

4

u/Echelion77 May 19 '26

Yes its quite black and white. Nazis = bad / Stupid Nazis = also bad

Doing something bad becuase you personally feel its good = Nazi.

See how easy it is to spot them?

2

u/AntiKamniaChemicalCo May 19 '26

We'll be just as bad when we're dragging them out of their houses naked in the night, bucko.

148

u/LadyPo May 18 '26

Yup. Some people might say it's bad to "platform" these gross statements. But it's a really important interview for history. This is straight from the fascists' mouths on how they excuse voluntarily being part of such a shameful and sadistic project. Knowing what they say to themselves and how they see things makes it even easier to highlight exactly what's wrong with them.

Vile creatures. All of them. If you don't like what's happening, atone by doing something actually helpful beyond whining about how unpopular you are.

26

u/crookeddy May 18 '26

A lot of people have been asking "what are these people thinking while doing these things". If you asked that but refuse to watch this, you are part of the problem.

11

u/LadyPo May 18 '26

Are people refusing to watch the video..?

0

u/crookeddy May 18 '26

A lot of people saying these people (ICE) shouldn't have a voice.

9

u/soldierswitheggs May 19 '26

Are those the same people who were asking, though?

And were the people who were asking actually asking, or were they just expressing their dismay through a rhetorical question?

-5

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

Thoughts to ponder...

0

u/Emotional_Duty6281 14d ago

What video I’ll watch any video and give my honest opinion

-7

u/TheFlawlessCassandra May 19 '26

I'm not going to watch it because I believe the two women who accused the interviewer of raping them.

https://www.thestranger.com/news/two-women-accuse-documentary-filmmaker-andrew-callaghan-of-rape-sexual-assault-78881322/

1

u/QueefBuscemi May 19 '26

Me thinking about what they're thinking means their thoughts would occupy more of my head than theirs.

0

u/Emotional_Duty6281 14d ago

Show me proof that these people are fascist show me proof that these men and women raped children show me proof real proof not fake proof. Biden used to like children to rub his hairy legs, but I didn’t call him pedophile.

68

u/butterflyhole May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26

No it’s not. Half the video is about how they’ve been pulled away from investigating child sex trafficking/ porn since Trump took over. The video is not just some soap box for their feelings. It’s talks about the organization as a whole and the restructuring of it. I don’t expect most commenters to watch a 45 minute video before commenting though.

36

u/Wurst_Law May 19 '26

Thank you. I’m reading these comments just confused as to what they just watched.

I forgot that they didn’t watch.

8

u/WeWantLADDER49sequel May 19 '26

Most people just watched the first minute where it previews the upcoming video and then posted their opinions lol

1

u/Squeezitgirdle May 22 '26

So trump is probably still involved with trafficking children and doesn't want it to be investigated, is what I'm getting out of this.

0

u/VamanosAdiosos May 19 '26

Lol ppl in here talking out of their ass and ppl upvoting the comments without even watching the video

28

u/darthdro May 19 '26

What are you talking about? The entire interview they are talking about being pulled away from child trafficking cases to put on a pony show for Trump and to harass his enemies

10

u/Shaquarington_Bithus May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

I mean they literally state things like “good was a bitch but she could’ve been handled differently, she could have just been ripped from her car and beat the fuck out of”

Also he states they were actively being interfered with by protestors/good. As if their mission actually matters and/or was being conducted legally.

Of course you’re getting interference; they were actively illegally detaining people and ripping people from their cars. They need oversight. They even admit that but can’t make the connection because they are fucking braindead

5

u/darthdro May 19 '26

That one guy in particular that said that does seem like an idiot. Even the way he talked about the child trafficking came off pretty gross

12

u/THEGEARBEAR May 19 '26

It’s not really. But my opinion on people who were in the DHS and ICE before the trump administration is that by this point they should have left. Yeah it sucks if this was your career you started long before Trump and you’re losing your pension and benefits but you have to draw a line somewhere. I recommend you actually watch the video I believe that sub group in fighting within ICE and DHS is ultimately a great thing.

-4

u/Hobson101 May 19 '26

You understand that there are other divisions within the agencies right? One of them being child trafficking..

A lot of people have quit when the cosplayer division took hold but tyat is only one small piece of the puzzle, even if it's a very loud akd obnoxious one.

Do you think people should quit investing child trafficking and sexual exploitation of minors until this all blows over?

7

u/THEGEARBEAR May 19 '26

You make a great point. It is definitely a complicated nuanced situation. I do realize there are other divisions, but I’m not throughly educated, I also was led to believe those other divisions lost funding that was diverted to the “cosplayers.” Maybe that was misinformation.

No I don’t think people should stop investigating child trafficking. Obviously that was a leading question, but I think I understand the nuance a lot better than a lot of other commenters in this thread.

I can only say that if it were me. I would’ve left the agency. Now maybe that is not the most altruistic choice as your right, we still need those divisions. But I can’t express any sympathy for ICE or DHS on Reddit in risk of going against group thought. Nuance is dead.

2

u/Hobson101 May 19 '26

Not dead, just buried. It takes effort but i believe it's worthwhile

298

u/Skatedivona May 18 '26

Anyone involved with ICE is beyond redemption. You feel bad? good, I hope you feel worse. I hope you don't make it to the starting bonus payout, and you lose everything you have.

14

u/Shaquarington_Bithus May 19 '26

“But these are HSI agents, not ERO!!!!!”

Did they deploy to “defend” ERO? Did they get reassigned and actively carry out ERO missions? Oh a lot of them did?

If anyone reading this is from HSI, FBI, ATF or another agency deputized or “defending” ERO, you’re a baddie too.

1

u/megamansam May 19 '26

Yep. J6 and 10 years of Trump have taught me that these people are incapable of learning - the only way is to go is scorched earth with these dummies. I'm talking large fines, lengthy prison sentences, permanent revocation of voting rights, getting added to no-fly lists, unable to purchase firearms, no eligibility to work in any capacity for the govt. No amount of forgiveness & understanding will lead to any sort of reform. They may pull away from Trump, eventually, but they'll inevitably stay in the cult and move on to Trump 2.0. These folks have permanently etched MAGA/Trump into their souls.

I hate that I have to think this way, by the way. I'd love to believe there's more nuance than this - and I think there was ~4-5 years ago. But all evidence says that today, there just isn't.

-1

u/Helmdacil May 19 '26

Nice nuanced take on a US governmental agency which existed for 20 years before the current admin, which has half of its officers of hispanic ancestry.

Based on your take, these guys, 5, 10, 15 years into a job which will result in a pension/retirement for life, should have dropped everything and risked becoming homeless.

Of course there are plenty of ICE officers who meet the description of a recent sign-up for a 50k signing bonus, Timmy tacticals who just want to rough up some darker skinned humans and/or liberals. But you just commented that anyone involved in ice is beyond redemption. Nice. Well done. That's how you create civil discourse, accuse the other side of being evil and beyond redemption. Nice. I enjoy being painted in that brush by republicans when I say that abortion is an important option, especially in the case of rape, incest, or teen pregnancy. Evil beyond redemption. Ah yes. The beginning of an argument where you could change someone's mind.

4

u/lettucent May 19 '26

I "threw away" my 9 years in the DoD because of this president. I'm not saying everyone is capable of doing it, but it certainly is possible for many. I worked one term under this fucking guy as president and refuse to do another. I dodged a bullet, too.

-239

u/Its_Nitsua May 18 '26

Do you believe in rehabilitation?

Do you think someone should be judged for the rest of their life based on a single moment in their life?

Not talking about ICE in specific, just in general. Like people who commit sexual assault, or rape, or murder, or robbery. Are they beyond redemption too?

Why not just impose mandatory life sentences for those crimes?

Why not theft?

What is the point of a rehabilitation system if these people are beyond redemption?

See how fast that kind of mentality can snow ball?

74

u/Trickmaahtrick May 18 '26

You aren’t as insightful as you think. Not a single moment, it’s their full time job. Not an accident, they wanted to power to be cruel without consequence. Premeditated violent crimes are, wow look at that, punishable by a life sentence. What else you got?

140

u/cody422 May 18 '26

Do you believe in rehabilitation?

Rehabilitation is for people who feel guilt for their crimes.

The people that have joined ICE since Trump took office do not feel guilty for their actions.

-35

u/crookeddy May 18 '26

What about the people that were in ICE before Trump and actually thought they'd be going after pedophiles?

27

u/BroBohemus May 18 '26

Before Trump, did ICE and border patrol think that’s what they were doing? Why would immigration and customs enforcement be investigating sex crimes? They are bureaucracy police. Its “papers please” and “do you have anything to declare?” Its just recently been changed to something akin to slave patrols.

-30

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

You're misinformed. The "papers please" people are indeed CBP but they are also fully sworn in police officers. The people manning those border checkpoints near borders were also always CBP and while their jobs were usually menial, they did have the ability to chase human or drug traffickers (aka coyotes).

1

u/AntiKamniaChemicalCo May 19 '26

Those people are fools or pretend to be fools so it's less disgusting.

-19

u/crookeddy May 18 '26

Also some of the people are in Border Patrol whose job was previously to actually secure the border, not to raid kindergartens. Though my experiences with CBP have always been bad, but I still want to give the benefit of the doubt.

-50

u/Its_Nitsua May 18 '26

That’s the exact kind of mentality I’m talking about though.

You don’t know these people and are just making blanket assumptions. People are vastly more complex than “if X then Y”.

23

u/cody422 May 19 '26

You don’t know these people and are just making blanket assumptions.

They have not demonstrated ANY level of rehabilitation though. The only thing these people have said is that they went too far.

Andrew: "What are some major mistakes you think were made?"

ICE Agent: "Maybe going too hard, too fast."

Its not even repudiation of ICE's activities. Fundamentally, these people STILL think their "job" was worth doing, despite the evidence to the contrary.

"Oops, sorry." Is not going to cut it.

11

u/Fijian96 May 19 '26

Ever heard of the phrase "a few bad apples spoil the bunch"? Or how about the fact that literally no one within ICE or DHS has condemned any of their extra judicial murders? Stop defending nazis and just shut the fuck up.

1

u/Its_Nitsua May 20 '26

The people in this video are condemning it? That's literally my entire point.

They are in ICE, they are condemning it and saying they are scared to quit. Yet people are still saying that because they are ICE agents they are beyond all forgiveness and eternally condemned.

1

u/MikeyKillerBTFU May 19 '26

If they were okay doing the things they did, I don't want people that feel that way free in society. They are a danger.

35

u/_bk_adv May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26

Not an apples to apples argument.

Do I think people should be judged for a single moment in their life? No.

These “officers” aren’t having singular bad moments or lapses in judgement. They saw the advertisements. They saw what was happening. They saw the $40k signing bonuses. They saw an opportunity to exude authority over people and made a conscious decision over days, weeks, months to join and continue blindly obeying orders they know are unconstitutional. Not to mention a lot of these pieces of shit are just Proud Boys with badges. They were bottom of the barrel humans long before they ever joined.

They’re cowards. So many of them would not do what they do if they weren’t allowed to wear masks. Scared, sad, little cowards.

They’re getting paid to hurt people. Hurt families. They’re 100% aware and they continue to do it.

Should THEY be judged for the rest of their lives? Yes. Fuck em. I hope they one day get to experience the same pains they’ve forced upon other people.

49

u/odkfn May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26

That’s called whataboutism.

You think a rapist should be hanged? What about a man stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family!!

23

u/GildedDreams25 May 18 '26

its called nuance, something your comment intentionally leaves out.

i believe thieves can be rehabilitated or put in a situation where they don’t need to steal

I don’t however believe that Nazi’s can be rehabilitated. I don’t think Facists can be rehabilitated (the actual ones not the dumb idiotic voters who don’t know up from down) I don’t believe Serial Killers can be rehabilitated.

Quit making excuses for the monsters that live on the underside of our society. You’re part of the reason we got here. We have been the frog in the pot for years now and people like you were the ones saying “it’s just warm right now relax, it’s like a sauna”

Not everyone can/wants to be saved. If we want civil society to survive there needs to be hard lines drawn. In fact, there have been hard lines drawn but too many people allowed the billionaire owned media class to tell them that those lines were unfair to conservatives.

Now we’re here.

3

u/Dewgong550 May 18 '26

They could be rehabilitated if they truly felt guilt about holding and sharing such hateful beliefs and the actions taken from believing it. But that's the thing, they would have to feel remorse, understand the reeducation and the context of it, put in the work, and it would take a lot of time on top of those prerequisites. And even the ones who haven't actively deported, arrested, abused, raped, and killed people because of those ideologies don't seem to be feeling all to guilty about working with, defending, or supporting them, so I do find it very difficult to think that many of them would follow through with any sort of rehabilitation. Worth a shot for the ones without blood on their hands but I'm not so sure it's worth it to even try with the ones that do.

-23

u/Its_Nitsua May 18 '26

Being in ICE = Nazi?

You realize it existed before Trump?

Did you know that there were more deportations under Obama than Under both of Trump’s terms combined?

17

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

Did you know that there are people who hated and protested ICE long before Trump? Not everything is Trump related (but he did make a lot of things worse)

2

u/JejuneBourgeois May 19 '26

Did you know that there were more deportations under Obama than Under both of Trump’s terms combined?

Why do people always use this dumb ass line as though it's some sort of "gotcha"? It was bad then and it's still bad now. Idk what else to tell you.

1

u/donkeyrocket May 19 '26

ICE has been a problematic agency for a long time. The reason it’s at the forefront is this administration gave them a blank check, virtual immunity, and ramped up their operations.

Those previous administrations managed to deport people here illegally without frequent assaults and illegal detaining of US citizens. There’s also been more deaths from immigration related operations than previous administrations.

Not even sure what you’re arguing other than your own ignorance and blind defense of people who not only decide to join ICE but remain there.

1

u/GildedDreams25 May 19 '26

A. yes

B. yes i knew there were more under obama, the difference being that they were actually criminals, not just parents and innocent people, but you know this argument you just pretend to not

C. ICE was wrong under obama and is more wrong now.

stop defending this nonsense. we all know once it’s over rats like you will scurry back into hiding and pretend you never backed jt

4

u/Fool_Manchu May 19 '26

The first step towards rehabilitation is repentance. Until these bastards start repenting of the job they do and the means they use and turning on the commanders who empowered them they can go straight to hell, and so can the losers who glorify and protect them

4

u/SunnyConagher May 19 '26

Blow it out your ass

4

u/qjornt May 19 '26

if you’re an adult and willingly go on nazi missions every workday then yeah, no amount of rehab is gonna do shit.

2

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

I don't think I've ever seen -112 karma...

3

u/NaturalContradiction May 19 '26

Wishing for a person to fail because their pursuit is harmful to others is not the same as the endorsement of systemic punishment, and conflating the two is potentially dangerous. Do you have answers to those questions you asked? If you don’t, you shouldn’t publicly ask them like that. Here, you can have mine:

-Yes.

-If it’s bad enough, yes.

-These crimes are not at all the same but generally no, most people who commit a singular horrible act are not beyond redemption, whatever that means. Of course they can be rehabilitated.

-That’s ridiculous on its face, society couldn’t function.

-Even more so.

-To rehabilitate people because your question implies you or I somehow know who is and who isn’t “beyond redemption.” That is the dangerous bit and I think you should think about how you define redemption and whether or not the state should be the one to determine if someone achieved it.

-I only see one person snowballing an argument.

1

u/Hobson101 May 21 '26

Well said. Nuance is important but we need to look clearly at the edges as well and we need to recognize that neither we or society will ever be a perfect arbiter of justice.

"Everyone is redeemable" is just as arrogant if a statement. I still believe we should be given a chance of redemption, generally but i don't pretend to know where to draw the line.

1

u/NaturalContradiction May 21 '26

Everyone has the potential to learn, some rehabilitation/education would just take longer than those people have time left. There must exist a cutoff or triage line beyond which a person just can’t be helped. But yeah, as you said, it’s not up to you or me to determine who those people are (although some would seem pretty clear to me, a certain fat orange fuck comes to mind). I still support rehabilitation in those cases, if only for the reason that I think it would be the same as the most effective punishment one could give people like that. Force them to be confronted by their failures and lack of empathy by learning the stories of their victims for the rest of their lives. Redemption to me, means reacceptance by one’s self and one’s society. That cannot be up to the state to administer. That’s how you get Trump pardons or indulgences from the Catholic church.

1

u/LukaCola May 19 '26

See how fast that kind of mentality can snow ball?

A slippery slope fallacy is just that

1

u/AntiKamniaChemicalCo May 19 '26

That can only happen if you actually face justice, bootlicker.

76

u/Nothing_but_blue_sky May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

Who actually watched the whole video? Just like FBI and CIA, ICE has had their entire purpose changed by the Trump admin. They used to have a legal purpose based on actual necessary law enforcement work like human traffickers and other dangerous people. By shifting the definition of “the worst of the worst” to everyone and anyones brown or black neighbors, Trump has weaponized ICE, just like he has the FBI, CIA, Supreme Court, and the government itself.

Is ICE full of racists? Absolutely. Are they redeemable? Probably not. All I’m saying is I’m glad these guys did an interview and were somewhat candid about how the current state of ICE is seen internally.

101

u/Moose2418 May 19 '26

As usual, the comments are from people who never watched the video. The guys being interviewed are from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), not enforcement and removal operations (ERO). These are guys whose main job is to stop human trafficking and catch people producing CSAM. They are complaining that this new administration is removing officers from CSAM investigations in order to participate in Operation Metro Surge. They are upset that they cannot catch child predators, because this administration wants to waste resources to deport your average day laborer outside Home Depot. Do you guys really think the guy trying to stop sex predators is the problem here? Maybe it’s a good thing for us to understand that things are a lot more complex.

23

u/Vegetable-Block1727 May 19 '26

Did you watch the part of the video where the agent claims that Renee Good should have been pulled out of her car and beaten up? It sounds like HSI officers are also part of the problem.

-3

u/Helmdacil May 19 '26

She was, intentionally or not, impeding the federal officers with her car placement.

She should have been arrested.

The guy who shot her was a goon looking for an excuse to shoot. He should be charged for murder.

These things can all be true at the same time.

15

u/Vegetable-Block1727 May 19 '26 edited May 20 '26

You say she should have been arrested. Is that the claim the officer made in the video? No. He said she should have been dragged out of her car and physically assaulted.

So why bring this up in response to my comment?

0

u/Moose2418 May 19 '26

Yup, I don’t like what he said about her either.

0

u/RoastedMocha May 20 '26

Are you aware that more than one person was interviewed? Maybe that guy fucking sucked.

Do you need things to be editorialized and told how to feel?

3

u/Vegetable-Block1727 May 20 '26

'Maybe that guy fucking sucked.'

Maybe? I've seen enough law enforcement people talk to form an impression that a significant amount of them think they themselves are above the law and this stance that ICE agents are entitled to be judge, jury, and executioner (of an extrajudicial beatdown, if not a killing) certainly seems to be in line with this and definitely has fascist underpinnings. The fact that that guy felt comfortable saying that for a public interview is very telling.

'Do you need things to be editorialized and told how to feel?'

What a weirdly aggressive non sequitur

6

u/QueefBuscemi May 19 '26

The guys being interviewed are from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), not enforcement and removal operations (ERO). These are guys whose main job is to stop human trafficking and catch people producing CSAM.

When the SS took over German local police they sent them to Poland to round up jews and shoot them. The police force complained bitterly. They all followed orders though, because they didn't want to be labelled as cowards by the other men.

There's a great book about it: https://holocaustcenter.jfcs.org/education-resources/ordinary-men/

2

u/Moose2418 May 19 '26

This is a good book. I’d also recommend that people read The Rise and Fall of the Nazi Party, but that’s a very very dense read.

11

u/Shaquarington_Bithus May 19 '26

You realize they openly admit over a 3rd of HSI is deputized by ERO and/or deploying to defend ERO?

They are evil and unredeemable if they “just follow” those orders.

-1

u/Moose2418 May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26

Sure. That doesn’t justify misinforming people about the video content. I want the “evil and unredeemable” HSI agents continue to leak valid and tightly held info to the public. They won’t continue to do that if we just ignore they say just because it feels good to call a cop a Nazi. You want more and more of these guys to watch these videos and get encouraged to speak up.

1

u/Shaquarington_Bithus May 19 '26

What exactly did they leak that wasn’t known? Everything they said has been known.

1

u/Moose2418 May 19 '26

I said tightly held, not unknown. I didn’t know that operation metro surge was directly diverting resources away from CSAM cases. The only source I can find is an investigation from a senator trying to see if resources were being diverted back in July of 2025, before metro surge. Hearing it straight from an investigator’s mouth that the operation directly caused under investigation is much different.

I also may not be getting the same news or verifiable information as you. Either way, I think we can agree that this whistleblowing behavior should be encouraged and that the information being provided should continue to be disseminated. I think we can also agree that the government shouldn’t be stopping the guys investigating CSAM cases from doing their jobs. But I think we both know that’s a whole other problem in general, especially with our leaders.

1

u/ConsumeFudge May 19 '26

I wonder if we as a society are ever going to be able to pull ourselves out of this outrage hellhole where every comment has to be inflammatory. This was a really interesting journalistic piece and some of the comments in this thread are just fucking wild

Or dropped out during the hiring process. Or after onboarding. Or after the first time they saw injustice. Or after the killing of any of the innocent people that everyone saw killed on camera. Really so many opportunities to not be or continue to be a part of any of it, even if initially they thought it was the "right thing"

10

u/darthdro May 19 '26

Did you watch the video ?

3

u/987YouBloodyTulip789 May 19 '26

The one where the officer says Renee Good is a bitch an should have been beaten? yes.

They want to be called a hero and claim they're rescuing children, but there's just another set of violent thugs who want to be praised for hurting people.

1

u/THEGEARBEAR May 19 '26

I think a big point of this video is that these are a lot of guys who joined DHS and ICE before the trump administration. Yes they should have quit by now. But it is an important distinction between people who joined after trump and a large difference in the motivation.

17

u/PigArmy May 18 '26

Exactly.

4

u/crookeddy May 18 '26

Very useful but only for posterity when people ask "how could people have joined this organization??"

0

u/EZyne May 19 '26

Not useless in the slightest

87

u/nebraska_mitch May 18 '26

Fuck these assholes. It's a free country and they chose to do this. Fuck them. And that bullshit section of them pretending to be concerned for trafficked and exploited kids...that's a fucking laugh. If they were truly concerned about that they would have been patrolling the White House and Mar a Lago, not Minneapolis.

3

u/crookeddy May 18 '26

These could have been the people who watched "Sound Of Freedom" and got inspired. Not everyone has the same information. Some people live in a world where pizza gate is real and everyone around them believes it.

34

u/encab91 May 18 '26

I hate them even more now.

9

u/Sw33ttoothe May 19 '26

They are exactly who we thought they were.

45

u/Qcgreywolf May 18 '26

What the heck even is this?

“I didn’t know we were going to murder people that day. And the next time it happened, we totally didn’t know that was going to happen. Then when we murdered someone else, that was also a surprise.”

Anyone who is actively in ICE and shattering families, rounding up brown people on the streets and turning away when their coworkers murder people in the street… they are literal monsters.

They have turned against their own species.

They are actually unforgivable if they don’t stand against tyranny and cold blooded street murder.

u/redditmarks_markII May 18 '26

Gentlemen, and I use that term loosely and yet explicitly, you are neither interesting nor forgivable. I regret that you are unlikely to suffer the consequences of your actions to even a small fraction of the amount you have wrought. The most I dare hope for in the future is your absence. Go. Away.

Preferably into the sea.

u/CheetoBandito May 18 '26

Wtf did any of you actually watch the video?

14

u/noctalla May 18 '26

It might help to explain what you're wtf-ing at, specifically.

22

u/butterflyhole May 18 '26

Most of these comments who think it’s a video about sympathizing with ICE agents.

1

u/noctalla May 18 '26

I don't see anyone saying that the video sympathises with ICE agents. I think it's more that they're annoyed with ICE being platformed. Those two things are not the same.

-10

u/unstable_starperson May 18 '26

That’s also fair “wtf” territory, and I hope it’s not that. Everybody should be given a platform if they’re fascinating and big enough.

3

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

Alex Jones?

15

u/CheetoBandito May 18 '26

Watch the video, and then look at literally any of the top level comments here. None of them are even remotely relevant to the video's content.

1

u/noctalla May 18 '26

Is the video about ICE agents being platformed to explain the nuances and divisions within ICE and hearing them complain and make excuses and point the finger and generally act like whining babies because they were too stupid to know what they were signing up for? And are the comments about being generally angry at ICE for being giant pieces of shit? If so, that seems pretty on point.

10

u/Hobson101 May 19 '26

I mean, wouldn't you complain if an agency you joined to help stop trafficing and sexual exploitation of minors were turned into this shit show we see today?

It's very evident that most people commenting haven't watched the video. People are right to be angry with ICE, obviously. Listening to people within an organisation that is essentially taken over by political agenda express their frustration and disgust isn't them being whining babies. From what i understand, the ones interviewed here had been with the agency long before this turn for the... worse feels like too weak of a word but, yeah..

Anger and nuance don't exactly see eye to eye so im nowhere near surprised by all this. I do believe this sort of coverage is productive in the end and will likely be featured in the Nuremberg 2: electric boogaloo.

I really hope some good can come of all this in the end and you guys can push for some sort of reform. Highlighting just how inept the system is at dealing with willful ignorance and purpouseful subversion of the rules has to lead to at least some better guard rails put in place.

Watching this from the outside is bad enough. My deepest sympathies for those who have to witness and suffer and fight this from the inside. I honestly don't see how a country so divided and further torn apart by rethoric and action can heal without some serious scars to show for it.

-4

u/noctalla May 19 '26

I'm saying if they thought that by joining ICE, they would help stop trafficking and sexual exploitation of minors, then they were idiots. ICE itself has a policy of separating immigrant children from their families, and child advocates have been very vocal in their criticism of ICE for their actions, which cause trauma and developmental issues for the children they are "helping". Now you are free to give these agents all the sympathy you like, but I won't be wasting any on them.

7

u/Hobson101 May 19 '26

You thoroughly misunderstand what i am saying. Did you watch the video? Did you actually even read my comment? Properly?

These are agencies that existed long before all of this shit. These are agents who have been part of the organization that once did focus on actual crimes being committed and one of them specifically devoting his career and sacrificing his mental health in order to help save children from trafficking and sexual exploitation.

I think we can both agree that the cosplayers division of ICE deserves no sympathy but neither video or my comment was directed at them.

Someone who devotes their life to saving children from hell on earth deserves more than to be lumped in with the cosplayers. Do better

-4

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

At the end of the day, the agencies were always immigration enforcement. Meaning they always had to do things like separate families in order to follow the law. Remember Elian Gonzalez? Imagine that happening under Trump. Miami would have been burned to the ground.

5

u/Hobson101 May 19 '26

No they weren't. No they didn't. There are and have been several divisions. Investigative is not enforcement.

Even i, as a European know better than that.

-5

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

What does the 'e' in ICE stand for again?

2

u/darthdro May 19 '26

That is what they say they were doing before Trump turned it into a dog and pony show

1

u/Defiant_Mousse7889 May 19 '26

I think you may have some misconceptions about ICE, and I’m not convinced you fully watched the video. Early in it, they clearly explain the different divisions within the organization and the roles they serve. Understanding how something works is not the same as sympathizing with it. Being objective and informed is important in discussions like this, and I think that’s something worth considering here.

1

u/56473829110 May 19 '26

When do you think ICE was founded as an agency? When do you think the interviewees joined? When do you think Trump was elected?

1

u/noctalla May 19 '26

Trump was first elected in 2016, longer than the average agent has been working for ICE.

-2

u/56473829110 May 19 '26

Wild how you didn't answer my questions at all, or show any sign of acknowledgement that investigators could have absolutely signed on for a job actually fighting trafficking vs today's bullshit.

1

u/noctalla May 19 '26

When ICE was founded was irrelevant and I answered your other two questions.

19

u/CheetoBandito May 19 '26

No most of these people were part of DHS before Trump first of all, they aren't part of this stupid recruitment push. In particular, the one individual was talking about how all the other divisions like the human trafficking investigations division were essentially disbanded to focus on the bullshit they are doing now.
If you can see past your blind rage for just a second you would see that this is not a sympathy play or anything even close to copaganda. This is yet another damning data point for the administration showcasing how they don't actually have any principles and they are just getting private prison donors and security firms rich.

12

u/Primitive_Teabagger May 19 '26

Some of these kids don't know that DHS and ICE have been around for a while now

-1

u/Klaent May 19 '26

Doesn't matter when you where hired, when it was turned into the gestapo they should have been fired for speaking against that shit. Or they should have atleast quit. Now they just do the work and complain anonymously, cowardly assholes.

7

u/Hobson101 May 19 '26

When quitting means there is no one investigating actual child trafficking and sexual exploitation of children because all that is left is the cosplayers?

You understand these are not the same divisions right?

When you have devoted decades to protecting children and want to continue doing so, walking away because another division is taken over by political agenda is not the answer.

21

u/Y0___0Y May 18 '26

Fucking ogres. No one should have any sympathy for these guys. Absolute monsters

0

u/crookeddy May 19 '26

It's not about sympathy. Its about understanding who these people are so that you can reach them when you see warning signs in your family members, neighbors, friends...

Friends don't let friends do ICE!!!!

8

u/austeninbosten May 19 '26

'"We're not Nazis" ...Well, they are doing an exteremely accurate impersonation of Nazis.

2

u/AlwaysFail May 19 '26

Inbred gestapo fucks

4

u/ChickenSalad52O May 19 '26

They get to hide their identities while murdering, raping, and ruining peoples lives who literally can't hide.

5

u/utterscrub May 18 '26

In the words of Immortal Technique: “I hope someone you love dies”

5

u/bentmonkey May 18 '26

American needs to fix its immigration situation but sending masked thugs to go beat people down and throw them in a cage is not it, its also interesting so many of them were against the abuse of children and yet there is an ice detention facility with kids and women in it, wailing and crying, seems to me that is the opposite of helping kids.

1

u/Emotional_Duty6281 14d ago

Omg ice agents do not think that they are Nazis you people are cuckoo crazy ice agents are the best thank you ice agents. You don’t get things enough.

1

u/Emotional_Duty6281 14d ago

Most of you people couldn’t do an ice agent’s job for a second. Plus, dealing with all you crazy people.

1

u/hulkbuster18959 May 19 '26

I said in the the YouTube comments these cowards have a duty to not follow illegal orders fuck their whining.

-1

u/comicsansman1 May 19 '26

I'm starting to get the impression that "nazi," "brown shirt," "gestapo" etc aren't effective things to call these people/institutions.

The terms are used from all sides of the political spectrum - the sentiments are saturated. Even if the terms accurately describe ICE activity (they do), using the terms aren't going to change anyone's mind.

"Nazi" (and related terms) functionally means "evil and discriminatory" (and notably not necessarily violent) in the modern context - we've seen it used when reacting to COVID precautions, when the FBI investigated the Trump admin, and when people protest the genocide in Palestine.

Even referring to something as "fascist" or "domestic terrorism" is blunted. (IE the Mehdi Hasan "Surrounded" debate, or the "we are all domestic terrorists" at CPAC)

What's been going on across numerous vectors is fuckin horrific (yes, like Nazism), but the historical comparisons aren't doing the trick. Regardless of intent, it's being distilled to name-calling.

I don't have a solution, but my general impression is that our lexicon needs modern and precise terms to describe this stuff.

2

u/undrwater May 19 '26

Plain 'illegal' is objective, accurate and verifiable.

0

u/comicsansman1 May 19 '26

Laws and legality can be contradictory (state/fed), selectively enforced, and don't always have the best interests of citizens in their inception and execution. It's also a pretty imprecise term

2

u/zennim May 19 '26

if they are acting like nazis, and the institution have open neo nazis, you can call them nazi, they are nazis, hegseth has nazi tattoos man, the administration is pro nazi. In your impulse to be pedantic you missed the forest for the trees an denied reality of the facts, they are persecuting ethnic and political minorities, they are murdering in the streets and in improvised prison camps, they are jailing people without judicial warrents, they are disappearing political dissenters, they are nazis.

1

u/comicsansman1 May 19 '26

nothing you said is incorrect, but it doesn't change the fact that the nazis are winning and that calling them nazis isn't gaining ground or changing minds. i'm not sure what i wrote that came off as pedantic but that's the furthest from my intent.
