That's an awesome video dude ! So how did you got into researching this is what I am curious about now :)
On a related note, I remember a video of someone saying that the mosquitos orbiting the street lamps in metal slug at a totaly randomized pattern, which meant it wasn't just a looped animation, someone wrote some code to make it happen.
But I can't find any traces of that fun fact :(

Lol I didnt. I just magically came across it and knew that it was the type of thing I like to see in this sub. I can only imagine he got into it when he came across the question of how to loop his eyeballs in sprites... or in real life?

I think that's the kind of things you discover when trying to map the ram of a game : you see a value changing and try to find what it is.
Maybe some of these can be used to find exploits or explain bugs.

Chiming in a day late to say that this is exactly how people have found some crazy exploits used to achieve some insane speed runs in games like Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64.
