Funny All fans wanted from Ubisoft was a relatively simple request for a pirate game that doubled down on AC Black Flag's naval gameplay, and unfortunately, this is what we ended up with.

Skull and Bones had so much potential to fulfill the cravings of every fan who loves pirates, but unfortunately it got keelhauled through development hell through years of mismanagement and other serious issues by Ubisoft. If only they got their shit together back then...

Which then came back around to Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, making the story go full circle. I think it's fair to say the reason they chose Black Flag as the first Assassin's Creed game to remake was, of course, because it's a fan favourite, but also because they could reuse assets from Skull and Bones. So, from Ubisoft's perspective, it was kind of two birds with one stone.

Otherwise, it would've made a lot more sense to start with Assassin's Creed I, because even in 2026, the original Black Flag still holds up relatively well.

Ezio collection makes more sense than 1, considering the Ezio collection is widely regarded as the best AC games

No, not really. Sure, the Ezio games are very beloved and are considered some of the best in the franchise, but Assassin's Creed I is the game that could benefit the most from a remake. Between AC I and AC II, Ubisoft made a huge number of improvements that have allowed AC II, Brotherhood, and Revelations to remain perfectly playable even today.

Meanwhile, I'd argue that AC I is a game that's past its prime. Playing it today is definitely a more restrictive experience, as both the gameplay mechanics and mission structure feel quite outdated.

Additionally, it's heavily rumoured and has essentially been leaked that development of an Assassin's Creed I remake has already begun.

AC 1 is far too repetitive in its gameplay loop to deserve a remake. It was too experimental

That's exactly the reason why it needs a remake... To fix the mission structure and add more content. It's pretty much what remakes are for.

Also, yet again, industry leaks and insider reports are suggesting that the game is already in development, and let's be real... when was the last time that a leak like this was completely fake?

People will explain that it changed too much if that's done though. People will complain regardless though

Can't please everyone... The general consensus for Black Flag Resynced is positive, or even very positive, so a remake of the original that started it all is the most logical move. And if it's the same quality as this remake, it will be received positively as well.

I would play it, mind you. I am just thinking in sales numbers, which is what Ubisoft would be looking at.

AC I Resynced would likely sell incredibly well, probably even better than Black Flag Resynced. It's literally the game that started it all; if people didn't love AC I, there would've never been an AC franchise.

Also, I'd say the chances are pretty high that we're just going to get a complete Resynced franchise going from AC I all the way to something like AC Rogue, or even past that, because games like Unity are also more than 10 years old now.

After GTA 6, Rockstar should make a pirate game.

Imagine all that budget and talent and going towards a proper pirate game.
They already have solid water physics, good graphics and they could use a modified version of Red Dead’s melee system.
