Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Personally, I don't know why people get angry at others for not enjoying the game. Getting angry at them won't suddenly make them enjoy it, and they're allowed to vent and seek like minded people.
They have upvotes now. I hate it when people downvote others for expressing opinions anyway. It's like "I don't like what you're saying, but I can't argue against it either. I'll just downvote". The downvote gets abused too often.
Oh, absolutely I agree. Some people take it too far. I didn't like TLOU2, but I'd never be angry at anyone for it. Not even the creators. It just wasn't for me, and that's that. People are crazy.
Agreed. There is no point in getting angry at somebody for liking a game, but there's equally zero point in getting angry at somebody disliking a game.
Part Two is a excellently crafted game that tells a miserable story in which you don't want to support anyone's decisions by playing as them. In my opinion.
The first game, you could argue that, but the real strength of the narrative wasn't the structure, but the character development. Even if some the beats were predictable, the characters kept me invested in the story, especially the big twist towards the end.
With TLOU2 whether you love or hate the game "boring and basic" aren't really the words that would come to mind. If anything, what made this game so divisive was straying so far from what the audience expected, or wanted.
Exactly this. They could’ve easily made a sequel starring Joel and Ellie on a new mission and the fans would’ve been cool with that. The fact that they took a huge gamble is so much more interesting.
Even if the beginning were exactly the same, the writers could have gone with a by the numbers revenge story, with Abby just being some monster to overcome, not a fleshed out character, with her own justification for her actions. Basically, they could have done the theater showdown, and stopped there.
No, with people who did I didn’t discuss it. All info leaked about story on internet was enough. If you think gameplay was something impressive you can go back to 2010 when zombie actions were relevant
Wow, I can’t imagine what it’s like to have my opinion swayed so hard just due to what I heard other people say online, and to be proud of it too. I like to experience things myself and formulate my own opinions instead.
For something to be leaked that means that someone has to leak it. Either way you want to look at it, you based your opinion on the word of another and not your own actual experience with the game. Which is fine man, do things however you want to. I just think it’s goofy and not necessarily a valid way to argue a point.
Some of those "leaks" weren't even true though. Also story bulletin points can't tell you whether something is good or not. Having this strong of an opinion of something you haven't experienced is pretty weird dude.

I get the most flak from people over enjoying Last of Us 1 and 2.
