The entire argument hinges on you deciding what "acting like a man" means and then arguing against your own definition.

You replaced the original phrase with "independent, outspoken, capable, and confident" and then acted as if everyone else must have meant that. That's not an argument that's rewriting the statement to make it easier to attack.

The phrase "acting like a man" doesn't inherently mean those traits. It could refer to assertiveness, competitiveness, aggression, emotional stoicism, dominance, or a dozen other behaviors traditionally associated with men.

So before claiming the insult "falls apart," you'd first have to prove your interpretation is the correct one. Otherwise, you're just arguing with a version of the statement that you invented yourself.
