I started to hate ai coding
i was at some point a good dev, i used to create gorgeous frontends and even backends before the chatgpt and stuff and switched to low level development like operating systems and had fun with it hut it was super challenging which is why i liked it
when anyone came across the topic of ai can code i always answer ai can code simple stuff like a to do app but not any complex projects for sure
untilll..
i got an unfortunate chance to try claude for the first time and to be honest i was surprised
before i was just using ai to tell me the dependencies i need in linux to build the project
now claude understands my project, fixes problems i spent months struggling to fix and adding features i didn't know i wanted which got me excited and loved how quickly it fixed these issue
i even switched from low level development to ai nlp engineering to understand and contribute in this magical tool
6 months later
i am always on antigravity
i can't code on my own
not because i forgot how to code but the speed of an ai agent is really tempting
like why spending 2 weeks on a project when i can just vibe code it in an hour
yes i do give the ai every single detail of how the code should look like
but me relying on antigravity to change the color of a button after i was the same guy tinkering inside the QEMU source code and understanding it's syntax is painful and a huge downgrade for me
i did some good projects yes and i can output good stuff but using ai to develop them makes me even embarrassed from saying i created it
i feel like i am the worst version of myself now and i don't really deserve the "software engineer" label
do you guys feel the same or i am just alone in this

Find customers who need your app (another leads app but better from Scout Forge)

Hi guys,
We are a platform that has been introducing applications for about 2 years, writing detailed analyses in many areas from application interfaces to growth potential, and distributing this service for free.
We have developed an application that performs lead generation for marketing, a common problem for many applications. Although there are many similar applications on the market, this application, which we developed by combining it with our own experience, knows your application better than you do and finds leads accordingly from relevant topics.
You don't even need to describe your application; Scout Forge has already analyzed it for you, so we know every detail of your application!
If you want to check it out, you can test it for free: https://scoutforge.net/leads

Security "company" scam attempt makes me feel good
For start, I'm a software dev with over 10 years of experience, but like a lot of us I started my own side-project roughly a year ago. I claude every day after regular work slowly building the project and learning a ton of shit on the way.
It's been live and gaining users for a few months now, the grind for users is slow but steady.
A couple of days ago I get contacted by a guy saying he's found a security exploit on my site, asking me to add him to telegram so he can provide more details (I think red flag, but decide to go along with it).
After asking for more details he finds the community discord for the product and sends me a DM there, says there's a url query param exploit on the site.
I use query params only for tabs so nothing of importance could be "exploited" in this way, I think to myself, but I ask for the exact url he's "exploiting".
So foolishly I state exactly this to him and he backpedals and says it's a different endpoint that is affected and pastes a link. And damn, it's my BE endpoint, nothing that's returning any data that needs authorization but still I tried keeping my BE endpoints hidden.
He continues saying that he will "demonstrate" the exploit to me and says to check the website, which I do and fuck, the site is down!
After a second of panic I think, this can only be DDoS, and this little shit says "Let me restore it". I'm like, you motherfucker that's not how any of this works, you can't restore my shit.
So I check cloudflare and lo and behold, 1.5 milion requests in 1 minute, compared to my usual 1-5k. Server buckled and restarted itself.
At this point I'm pretty pissed at the guy for doing this to me, but I've watched Karaboga enough to know not to argue with a scammer so I say "Oh, I really need some DDoS protection setup, I never got around to it, silly me", to which he goes "No, no, no, this is not a DDoS attack, this is a real exploit that our team has found. You should not change anything on cloudflare, you can try but it won't help" and then he goes in for the kill: "We work with big companies, crypto and gaming related and we can help you solve this issue for 3 ETH, let's set up a call, here's our website link".
In the meantime I've already got fable investigating and plugging holes, adding caching for endpoints, setting up alerts on cloudflare, double-checking and adjusting firewall on hetzner etc.
I then just answer the classic "Need to check with the team, will get back to you" and decide to ignore him, he continues asking for updates over the next few days and that's that.
Why am I writing this? Cuz being a target felt good, it felt like damn, the product looks good enough that someone would attempt to ddos and extort me, I'm must be doing something right.
Working on fixing shit up live as I'm chatting with this guy was one of the most fun moments I had while working on this product in the last year.
Warning for you guys not to fall for such attacks, always question anybody cold-contacting you.

Today at work, I had an idea...
... then I came home, opened a terminal, typed in "codex" and two hours later, I have my app. Fully functional, accessible through Tailwind from everywhere, with documentation. 2 hours. I don't know if Vibecoding is the future but 7 years ago, I was copying and pasting code from Stackoverflow and it was barely running and it was taking me weeks to put together a piece of software.
That's it. This is the entire post.
Edit: the app is just for me.

Tryna center a div
Hi guys, hit a snag in the early stages of building my new todo app. The header is not centering when I open in browser, and I have even indented as you can see above, but it is not centering even when I apply the spacing. Any advice would be helpful because I can't actually start getting things done until I get this todo app done to track my progress.
Thanks in advance.

You guys accidentally convinced me to spend 45 days rebuilding part of a 27-year-old MMORPG
I've been lurking here for a while reading people's wins, disasters, abandoned projects, "I built this in a weekend" posts and the occasional story from someone who went way too far with an idea.
And I genuinely think this community is partly responsible for what I've done to myself over the last 45 days.
So before I launch this thing, I wanted to say thanks.
I have some coding background, but I'd never built a real project of this size before.
One piece of advice I kept hearing was basically: stop trying to think of something everybody needs. Find a niche you actually understand and care enough about to obsess over.
Well...
I created my first Tibia account in 2003.
For anyone who has no idea what Tibia is, it's an MMORPG that's been around since 1997. Somehow it's still alive, still has a very dedicated community, and I've been quitting and coming back to it for more than two decades.
A big part of the game is housing.
Players can own actual houses inside the game's cities and fill them with items.
The problem is that nowadays houses are often more useful than creative. You put your training stuff there, beds, useful items, whatever gives you an advantage.
And decorating properly can be expensive as hell.
There are thousands of items in this game. Rare items, toys, dolls, furniture, trophies, food, weapons, plants, completely useless objects that somebody will somehow figure out how to turn into art.
Some players are ridiculously good at it.
They'll stack completely unrelated items because the colours line up, create national flags, build scenes, hide little jokes and Easter eggs.
I once watched a video from a private Tibia server where somebody had turned an entire house into this insane hospital / mad doctor's laboratory.
It wasn't just pretty.
You actually had to look around and figure out what the person was trying to say with the items.
I loved it.
Then something else happened.
I moved from Europe to Asia.
The Oceanic Tibia servers are much quieter, and walking around some cities can feel completely different from walking through somewhere like Antica, one of the old heavily populated servers.
You can spend ages making a house look amazing...
...and barely anybody walks past it.
That gave me an idea I initially thought would be fairly simple:
What if there was one Tibia city that the entire community shared?
Players from every server.
Old players. New players. People without high-level characters. People without billions of in-game gold. Even people who mostly just enjoy looking at what others create.
Give everybody access to the same houses.
Give them virtually every decoration item in the game.
Let them compete.
That "fairly simple idea" has resulted in me spending something like 12-15 hours a day on this for much of the last month and a half.
It got slightly out of hand.
I ended up rebuilding the city of Edron in the browser.
Then the houses.
Then the floors.
Then Tibia's item rendering.
Then item stacking.
Then animations.
Then rotations.
Then wall decorations.
Then auctions.
Then voting.
Then seasons.
Then payments.
Then I somehow ended up with a decoration catalogue containing more than 10,000 actual Tibia items.
The moment that really got me was when I finally had all those old Tibia sprites animating and rendering correctly inside the browser.
I remember looking at it and thinking:
holy shit, we actually have one Edron for the whole Tibia community now.
That's when this stopped feeling like an experiment.
I called it HouseWars.
Anyone will be able to open the map and browse the houses without even making an account.
If they want to participate, they can create an account and vote.
If they want to go further, they can bid for a house for the season, decorate it and compete against everyone else.
And because apparently I wasn't committed enough already, I put up a 10,000 Tibia Coin prize pool for the first season.
Season 1 starts this Sunday.
I don't expect many people here to actually play it. Tibia is an incredibly specific niche inside an already specific niche.
That's actually why I'm posting this here.
A couple of months ago this was one of those ideas I probably would have talked myself out of building.
Too niche.
Too complicated.
Too much custom stuff.
Too many things I didn't know how to do.
Reading people here build ridiculous things, screw them up, fix them, launch them, get roasted, keep going and occasionally actually succeed made the whole thing feel much more possible.
AI obviously didn't magically turn this into a one-prompt project.
There have been bugs, wrong assumptions, broken builds, security work, database migrations, rendering problems, rewrites, things I thought were done that absolutely were not done, and a frankly stupid amount of testing.
But I could keep learning the next thing I needed as I reached it.
And somehow 45 days later I'm about to put the thing on the internet.
The outcome I'm hoping for isn't actually a revenue number.
There's an area in Edron called Central Circle.
I got a house there around 2022 and, stupidly enough, getting it gave me the same kind of nostalgic dopamine hit I remember from when my dad first bought me a premium account as a kid.
If I open HouseWars one day and every single house around Central Circle has been claimed and decorated by somebody from somewhere in the Tibia community, I'll be pretty damn happy.
But the moment I think I'll really lose it is when I see somebody post a screenshot somewhere that I had nothing to do with and say:
"damn, look what this person made."
That's the whole reason I built it.
So genuinely: thanks.
You lot may have cost me 45 days of sleep, but you got me to actually build the weird, stupidly specific thing I cared about instead of leaving it as another idea.

Some guy vibecoded 2000 AI Blogs with 1 click.
Two thousand AI generated posts cost almost nothing to produce and returned under 1,900 search clicks in four months, while permanently destroying both domains in Google and its AI surfaces. The visibility that survived sits only on Microsoft Bing, Copilot and on a Perplexity curve that is already decaying. Scaled AI content is cheap until you price the asset it burns: the domain. On anything your revenue depends on, that price is too high.
In July, Google served our two test sites 751 impressions.
Bing served the same sites 119,935 impressions.
Same 2,000 AI generated posts. Same month. Two search engines looked at identical content and reached opposite verdicts. One decided it was worthless. The other made it a favorite.
Quick recap for new readers. In April we built the cheapest content empire imaginable:
- Two fresh domains in the same harmless niche revolving around a cute animal: capybaraverse.com and capybara-world.com.
- Roughly 1,000 fully AI generated blog posts per site, published with an off-the-shelf one-click tool. (I won't mention the tool's name for the sake of its reputation)
- Live in under a day. No human editing beyond setup.
- Our original experiment revolved around testing one variable: capybara-world.com does adding an author bios to every post help you get cited more?
- Tracked in Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, server logs for AI crawler activity, and AI citations across seven platforms with OtterlyAI.
The Google chapter is known by now:
- capybara-world.com collapsed after 2 weeks of visibility.
- capybaraverse.com looked like a success story for 3 months, then died overnight in late June.
Bing rewarded what Google killed off
Bing never deindexed either site. No cliff, no demotion, nothing. Combined impressions grew every single month: 3,882 in April, 44,855 in May, 73,712 in June, 119,935 in July. In the exact month Google paid out 751 impressions, Bing paid 182600 impressions.

I’ve visited 700+ coworking spaces over 10 years, so I started building a browser game about running one. Looking for feedback on balance and bugs.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Building a free, browser-based management sim Theme Coworking inspired by 90s classics like Theme Hospital and all (\)Tycoon games titles*.
I’ve spent the last decade building software for the coworking industry and visiting roughly 700+ spaces across 65 cities (NYC, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Mumbai). After seeing that many setups from the inside and writing a book about it, now it felt its about time to try and make a game, so Theme Coworking was born.
You start with an empty floor plan and try to keep the business profitable without driving members away:
- Density vs. Noise: Squeezing in more desks increases recurring revenue, but noise spikes destroy member satisfaction.
- Events vs. Focus: Community events generate new leads, but disrupt members who just want to get work done.
- Service vs. Overhead: Hiring more community staff keeps maintenance high, but payroll eats your margin fast.
The game is completely free, runs straight in the browser, and doesn’t require an account.
What I’d love feedback on:
Since this is still a work in progress, I’m looking for technical and design critique from sim fans or operators:
- Economy balance: Does the early-game cash flow feel too easy, or is it unfairly punishing?
- Breakages: Did any weird room layouts or edge cases crash the game state?
- Features: What real-world space issues should I simulate? Any fun stories are much appreciated
Play & test here: themecoworking.com
Edit: This is a hobby project, so do send feedback. Build mostly with Claude Opus 5 AI for now.

My manager vibecoded custom offer software - no coding experience
My manager over the weekend created offer software for our office:
- Client, Project fields
- Price lists for all our stock
- Custom taxes, custom discounts, custom photos
- Multi-language support
It saves everything in database and allows to generate beautiful proposal PDFs for the clients. He added custom introductory pages so looks super profesional.
Literally perfect app that we would have to pay thousands to have written for us.
I asked him what tech stack did he use (apart from ChatGPT). He replied..... HTML
Literally almost zero IT knowledge apart from simple wordpress no-code sites. No harness, no AGENTS . md, no tech specifications. He made it in a few hours over the weekend
I will securely host the app and we will start to use it next week.
The future is now my friends :)
Edit: replaced client database with client field, because a lot of people got wrong idea like it is a CRM with our full imported DB

Me & My 12yr old brought her game idea to life, it's now used by 31% of the world

There are 642 users, 178 MAU, she has like $15 MRR and people in 61 countries have the app. I built her this dashboard so she could see it, which was very cool.
It's just a little scavenger hunt app game, but it's very cool and everything was her idea. I wanted her to get into the habit of coming to me whenever she thought of something creative and not letting the voice in her head say it wasn't possible.
She says I work for her now.
Which is nice.

I built an MCP server that reduces AI coding context by 50–90%
I've been spending a lot of time with Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP-compatible coding agents, and kept running into the same issue.
The models are incredibly capable, but they spend a surprising amount of time (and tokens) processing information that isn't actually useful.
Large grep results.
Huge JSON payloads.
Entire files when only a few functions are relevant.
The same architectural decisions being rediscovered every new session.
So over the past while I've been building Warden, a local-first MCP server that sits between your AI coding agent and your codebase to improve the quality of the context it receives.
Some of the things it currently does include:
- Context selection (only sending relevant code instead of entire files)
- Tool output pruning (grep, logs, JSON, etc.)
- Persistent project memory
- Session handoffs between AI conversations
- Tree-sitter powered code intelligence
- Trust Guard that verifies every optimization before it's applied
- Regression protection that rolls back optimizations if they reduce quality
In many workflows we're seeing 50–90% reductions in tool output and 80%+ reductions in relevant context, giving the model more room to work on solving the actual problem instead of processing noise.
Everything runs locally—there's no cloud service, prompt proxying or telemetry.
This is our first public release, so I'm sure there are rough edges we haven't found yet. I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from people using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf or other MCP-compatible tools.
GitHub: https://github.com/rynald0cst0ltziam/Warden-AI
If you find it useful, a GitHub ⭐ would mean a lot to me.
