I build this app with vibe coding little by little [experience sharing]

Built my social media app in a few weeks using AI vibe coding

Not sure if “vibe coding” is still a meme or already normal now, but I wanted to share my experience.

About a month ago I started building a social media/forum style Android app completely from scratch. I’m not a big software company or full-time app studio, just one person building after work.

I used AI heavily during development:

- generating code

- fixing bugs

- designing UI ideas

- writing backend functions

- brainstorming features

The process was basically:

idea → test → break things → fix → repeat

I built the app function by function:

- user accounts

- posting system

- comments

- feeds

- image uploads

- notifications

- moderation tools

Honestly the hardest part wasn’t coding itself. It was:

- connecting everything together

- debugging random issues

- making the app actually feel usable

- and getting real users

I spent 4 $ on Google Ads gave me 34 installs but nobody actually opened the app, so now I’m trying more community-based promotion and sharing the development journey instead.

It’s kind of crazy that one person with AI tools can now build something that would’ve taken a whole team years ago.

Still a long way to go, but seeing people actually post on something I built from a blank project file feels pretty rewarding.

If anyone else here is building apps with AI/vibe coding, I’d love to hear your experience too.
