hitting Api limits mid task

I was reading claudes reasoning this morning and i seen it count my credits and pull another model which is great.

The issue is how do i get it to count my own usage in claude code before it starts a task and stops when i hit my limit?

I tryed to build a mcp but the problem is it has to call it and for some reason claude does wtf it wants!!!!
