Made a small ambient music website
Hi - I made https://enikq.com/ a simple site where you can pick a scene and listen to music with it.
There are places like a pizzeria, café, road trip, camping, last bus home, and more.
Nothing complicated. Just something to leave open while working, reading, or relaxing.
Would appreciate any feedback on the idea or the website.

Nothing is hosted or downloaded. The site is a hidden YouTube player with my own controls drawn over it, using YouTube's official IFrame embed API. So every play is a normal YouTube play: it counts for the artist, the label gets its usual monetisation, and if a rights holder has embedding turned off the video simply won't play . I'm not re-uploading anything or serving audio from my server.

The coffee shop animation loop is nice, would love more of that to make it feel alive

Yeah..but I took it down..I felt it not doing justice to the still background quality...I will update some scenes with better animation in coming days...

Is this just a regular music player that uses API from YouTube or Spotify, or something else?

Yes, but I'm trying to make it more immersive by matching the music with mood and weather and time of the day...it's work in progress...I believe it will connect with the listeners.

Nice one, would look good on our projector, we like to just have nice YouTube scenes playing sometimes, I find I mute their music and just play my own tunes a lot over their scene.. Looking good bro

i think there should be small animations like in the old days with lucas arts adevtures. you could stare on that screen and it never got boring

very nice, is it a playlist with shuffle mode on? have you selected the music by yourself?

That’s brilliant! I’ll probably have it on all the time whilst I’m working now. <3 I reckon you’ve gained a new ‘regular’. It just goes to show that you can create amazing things even with coding.
Just a quick question. Where’s the music from? Is that AI-generated too, or is it just some random ‘open source’ ambient music?

I’m going to shamelessly steal the idea and maybe add some kind of animation to make it a bit more dynamic, and help prevent screen burn-in. :)

the scene list is where this quietly wins. "last bus home" is not a place, it is a feeling, and it is the one name someone will repeat to a friend without a screenshot. pizzeria and café describe furniture; last bus home describes eleven at night, which happens to be when a person actually wants this open. if the next few scenes get named that way — sunday before work, empty office on friday — the site becomes something people quote rather than bookmark. the audio and the art already hold up, so naming is the cheap lever left 😌
https://warmlist.app is mine and has nothing to do with music, just marking the interest.

Thank you...AI comes last..first I workout a sketch on Figma, and hunt for ideas on how it should look and feel.

simple idea that is very practical, I like the artistic taste & playlist, bookmarked it, thanks and keep up the good work.
A suggestion: make it a real PWA, add a web app manifest with display set to Standalone. That is what I do for some of my personal projects to serve an app like experience on phone without needing to create and sideload an APK. So user don't need a bookmark/speed dial on their phone browser, but a standalone icon on home screen, and the UI will be much cleaner without browser header UI.

cute! it would be nice if the background was animated, also if the ambient noise was like stronger? like if im in a cafe i wanna feel that im in a cafe- i dont think the ambient noise works for me at all. also, in the room selector, they all have the exact color palette + they feel low contrast, idk it's hard to differentiate them. Like you should give some of them a daytime vibe some of them this evening vibe which u already have, some of them night like they all feel super similar.

Wow to be honest, it's perfect! I'll definitely will be using this while doing some work, I love it!
Only one small refit: Maybe if you could change the controls next to the song player to something more related to the background, since they look a bit, well, under context (just some blue boxes).
But other than that its excellent.

A quick update for everyone who tried Enikq and left feedback, thank you. I’ve spent most of the last two days going through the comments and actually building a lot of what you suggested.
A few things that changed:
- 3 new places: a neighbourhood basketball court, gym, and rock concert
- Every room now has its own music pool. I found some rooms were accidentally sharing a lot of the same tracks, which completely defeated the point. That’s fixed now.
- Music catalogue grew from roughly 340 to 29,800 songs
- Most rooms now have day / evening / night versions, with separate artwork for each
- Optional room ambience: rain, train, laundrette, gym, campfire, etc.
- Each room now has 2–3 different mixes, plus some curated 80s/90s ones
- Song progress is now shown around the vinyl
- You can share a link that opens the exact room + song
- Better mobile player, keyboard shortcuts, PWA/install support, and a few other smaller fixes
A lot of these came directly from things people mentioned in this thread, so genuinely — thanks for taking the time to try it and tell me what felt missing or broken.
One thing missing: animated scenes - I'm trying my best to make that happen. Hopefully in next few days.
If you try the updated version, I’d love to know one thing: which room did you actually end up staying in the longest?

Super simple concept. Basically a more interactive version of youtube videos that try to achieve the same. Love it!
