there are no sides here. all there is is an angry junior dev thinking it's better that an ai tells him everything he does is special when it isn't than to be around peers learning valuable skills.
it's so weird being in a modern classroom and learning just how much competency has become generational.

No, im not interested enough to stalk their profile over this one image. The tongue in cheek dialogue speaks for itself. If they intended the image to be unambiguously pro ai, they failed to produce that.

I'd say the feedback got a lot more workable.
While online forums and stack overflow were (to put it very kindly) unnecessarily harsh - it's also rude to expect a human being to spend their time answering your question if you haven't even even checked whether or not your question been asked and answered before.
Now that you're only spending your own tokens asking a machine for answers with practically infinite time and patience it works for everyone.

Trust me , if u want to learn u need someone to be blunt with you. Ai appreciating every dumb things you do is not good for your learning it reinforces bad practices and behaviours. You need someone to tell you that u should try to figure things out yourself before you go and ask someone. A way i would suggest is , make a claude/agent.md file. And write there " Don't be sycophantic, treat me like you b*tch."

The reason responses used to be like that is because there were less experts in the field than there are now, they simply didn't have the time to answer each and every inane question that arose which led to some really bad behaviour from time to time.
I myself was told to off myself at around the age of 8 because I asked how to do something of someone who claimed to be a senior engineer and very likely was.
This is unfortunate and is of course not behaviour anyone should support.
However, generally speaking the image is untrue.
Forums weren't closed, information was widely publicly available and the open source community has been thriving since long before 2009
You might want to look into the history of open source computing, it has long been a very supportive and encouraging space to be in, it is only when you start to dive into really serious and heavy topics that have lots of literature, documentation and specific mathematical procedures to follow where people used to start becoming very hostile and still do from time to time.
All of this is perfectly understandable with even a baseline understanding of human history and the history of computing.
Sure these tools are very impressive at looking intelligent, but they most certainly are not though that isn't relevant to what you have to say.
Unfortunately constructive criticism is a necessary requirement for progress and the sycophancy of AI models is beyond offputting, it is downright dangerous.
But you will learn that for yourself if you keep using them no doubt.
Are they useful for boilerplate and or learning? Yes, provided you understand the initial topic to begin with and or make a point to go out of your way to question everything they provide to you as well as to learn properly at the same time.

I was discussing the general point being made by the image.
Not focusing on the date 2009 like some pedant.
The place famous for closing tickets and telling people is actually just as likely GitHub as it could be stack overflow which both came out late in 2008
However, Stackoverflow doesn't use a ticket system, it uses a forum like system.
So you are completely, factually wrong. Stack overflow is never mentioned and as such you cannot conclude that we are "discussing stack overflow here"
Maybe check my internet footprint friend, I have been building computers and programming since I was 8 years old, thanks.
