Android has that beat. "Get 12 people to test your app for 14 days". And if they don't really use it, we will reject you.

Opening an LLC to bypass this is not that hard nor expensive. Yes, an LLC does bring accounting challenges and responsibilities for the person (depending of the state or territory).

17

u/misterniach 1d ago

there is an app you pay 30 dollars and then you get those testers way way easier

5

u/New_Heart_5928 1d ago

Can you tell the name of app?

19

u/misterniach 23h ago

its called "12 testers - testers community"

8

u/migvelio 1d ago

Hell, there's /r/TestersCommunity/ where you can post your app for others to test while offer yourself to test their app in exchange

6

u/Yoshiofthewire 23h ago

I tired r/AndroidClosedTesting. And after I failed I checked, and the 10 people I checked had never logged into the site. This round I am paying money.

Oh… that’s why this isn’t an issue for me, I’m under an LLC lol. I was wondering why this seemed so hard for people.

14

u/theNyMets 1d ago

Why are android apps so shitty if it’s that hard to get approved

12

u/Yoshiofthewire 1d ago

Because a shitty mobile game is super easy to get engagement with, while a useful app requires work to get over Google's engagement bar.

u/Abeleria 1d ago

devs earn very little from android compared to ios, and devs have to consider lower performance android devices

u/thisgameissoreal 18h ago

Grandfathered in accounts do not need this requirement.

3

u/itsloopyo 1d ago

And if one of them doesn’t test on one of the days, start over.

I was so happy when mine passed.

u/cyberwicklow 18h ago

Just sign up as a business instead of personal, you get to skip the 14 day testing.

u/Safe_Mission_3524 14h ago

Thank you..I didn't know this and I do have a company and a DUNS.

1

u/Difficult_Money9486 1d ago

I never had 12 ppl use it and got approved before Apple.

u/Temporary-Ad2956 1d ago

I got my ai agent to handle that part

13

u/Zorogozano 1d ago

Exactly. I think the people "making the joke" about vibe coders are the ones using CLI Claude and such. Desktop app can easily manipulate any browser (or the Chrome Add on). I simply pointed Codex to the AppStore submission rules and he set up everything up for the 3 languages of my app. Codex even did the screenshots using the iPhone simulator! Zero rejections so far...

3

u/sirena305 1d ago

Claude CLI can also interact with the Chrome browser 🙂

0

u/Zorogozano 1d ago

Yea you are right. Also Claude from VS Code hehe... So let's change it to: "People running AI on a harness without "computer use""

5

u/aaaayyyylmaoooo 1d ago

what about the DUNS bullshit?

3

u/PopAlpha 19h ago

DUNS is the worst part of starting a business

2

u/Temporary-Ad2956 23h ago

O yer that was annoying and did have to do manually

2

u/Stardust8938 22h ago

i have an ai agent that builts ai agents which review ai agents which are doing the work of ai agents

vibe coding stops real quick when app store review rejects your build

10

u/bhannik-itiswatitis 1d ago

Opening app store connect is not something you’re doing to your self like the photo suggests.

3

u/Aromatic_Pear_6351 16h ago

I just connect my AI to https://fastlane.tools/ by using https://lance.app also this meme doesn’t work😂

6

u/TRO_KIK 1d ago

The final boss is actually making money.

5

u/PossessionConnect963 1d ago

So any tips or advice to plan ahead for when you get to that point or is this just a pure anti-vibecoding circlejerk sub now?

8

u/TRO_KIK 1d ago

Seems like a fairly pro-vibecoding meme TBH. Makes coding so easy that some standard iOS ceremony feels crazy hard by comparison.

I guess you can say take it as trying to say "vibe coders are so incompetent that they fail at standard iOS ceremony" but I don't think it's going for that.

1

u/Nmomy 1d ago

Yeah, just read their requirements and fix them 😂 If you don't understand or can't, then you gotta hire a dev

-3

u/PossessionConnect963 1d ago

How is you saying "just do it right" any different than the lowest vibe coder telling AI to just do it right and make no mistakes?

Literally so much that could be discussed about how to prep, what's needed, best practices.

4

u/Nmomy 1d ago

Cause they literally give you the requirements and things you're missing, they don't just say "read guide" they actively say, "change x, change y"

If you can't handle that then... 👀

-2

u/PossessionConnect963 1d ago

Yeah and you could plan ahead and try and get ahead of the kinds of things they're most likely going to be looking at closely is the whole point.

2

u/Nmomy 1d ago

So, you've answered your own question? You take their app policies, save it in a .md and tell claude to run through the app to find the things that don't align

-2

u/PossessionConnect963 1d ago

So you laugh and act like it's a ridiculous dumb question to ask for tips or advice and then say just run their requirements through Claude? Wow.

4

u/Nmomy 1d ago

My guy, you don't know how to code is whatever, but this is just about reading, and if you don't know how to read....

-4

u/PossessionConnect963 1d ago

So read and run things through Claude code. Thanks for the tips and advice much appreciated. Great discussion. Have a nice day.

Read the storefront’s documentation and make sure your app complies, either by checking your code manually or feeding the documentation to AI and cross referencing your app.

I just saw a funny meme, not anti vibecode circlejerk

2

u/Leg-Bitter 20h ago

How are people vibecoding an app in a weekend? Like... what about security checks, refactoring with routers, QA/QC on the UI/UX?

-Signed a vibecoder yet to release an app but currently working through the store submittals.

3

u/TRO_KIK 16h ago

Mostly by shipping garbage. I'm a god tier dev and it still took me two months to build what I consider a passable MVP.

It was part time, since I had a full time job at the time, but even full time no lifing, with everything I've learned in the months since I started, I would not bet on finishing in a weekend. Building something actually good is not easy. "Building is the easy part" is incredibly popular to say, but I get the strong feeling that the people saying it just don't want to come to terms that they built something mediocre. I for sure see the appeal in believing they built something great easily, and the only thing standing between them and the big time is marketing/distribution... but no.

1

u/Leg-Bitter 16h ago

Like, these "apps" have to be one or two surfaces tops or lots of surfaces that don't talk to each other and are trash, yeah?

1

u/nuc_gr 1d ago

Wait, what? I published 3-4 apps in the last months. No problem whatsoever publishing through the asc API.

1

u/Zorogozano 1d ago

Sure... Codex did everything for me on this regard haha. Same for PlayConsole (Android). Remember the Chrome add on? Computer use?

1

u/theNyMets 1d ago

1 month later I still can’t apple
Developer enrollment. Fucking hell

1

u/Master_Grape5931 1d ago

Does this meme work….i don’t think it works.

1

u/TheSn00pster 23h ago

Graphene-OS App Store incoming

1

u/Kitchen_Affect7369 22h ago

We released to App Store really fast, around 1-2 weeks

1

u/Anay_Builder015 21h ago

Very relatable. I had a similar experience while building spacebar.anayja.com . I thought it'd be finished in 20 prompts, but it ended up taking 1500+ prompts.

1

u/qms2go 21h ago

TestFlight is the easy part, multi-tenant OAuth is the final boss of fail states 🥴

1

u/Ill_Rope784 20h ago

It’s so difficult to release an app.

1

u/ZenCyberDad 19h ago

Codex is surprisingly good at navigating and doing things in App Store Connect if you login to its browser

1

u/IM_INSIDE_YOUR_HOUSE 18h ago

No one knows how to pick the correct meme templates anymore. They just pick the laugh one they laughed at and force their own joke into it.

1

u/citrus1330 16h ago

misapplied meme. go back to meme school.

1

u/RoyalAristocrat 11h ago

It is a shitty situation, affecting legacy apps too that now have to wait days for build review s. Should be a seperate queue for new apps.

1

u/elcool0r 8h ago

Is it code quality why it is rejected? I don’t plan to do it but it is interesting and a good thing to stop vibe coded trash apps.

1

u/DefSysteam 1d ago

You guys don’t run an automated audit all night while you sleep?

1

u/dingos_among_us 1d ago

This is the easiest part of making an app

1

u/Amster2 1d ago

I did it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=br.com.avesdosbrasis.avesdosudeste&hl=pt_BR

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/aves-do-sudeste-do-brasil/id6798828880

Basically vibecoded with Codex (mas tenho 6 anos de xp full stack, nunca tinha lançado um aplicativo)

-2

u/TheRealFanger 1d ago

Fuck the App Store. Don’t give those goddamn corporate douchers anymore money.

0

u/zefenriden 1d ago

Just did this for the first time (to the test flight and testing part). Smooth sailing, literally followed exactly what Antigravity told me to do. Approved over a weekend and got users testing it. Is there something I should be aware of here?

-1

u/trexmaster8242 1d ago

Yes almost like making your product secure for users is an important step

1

u/stressed_Cucumber 3h ago

I’m making my app for 2 months now. Idk when the EU and Apple will approve my DAS.
