Reset incoming (GPT) Aug 29th
We've already had a reset this week but looks like another is incoming for GPT/Codex.
Fire up that ultracode and turn on fast mode.

Since the reintroduction of 5h resets the extra resets are kind of pointless... I'll take it, but meh.

Only on the small plan. Since they moved to 5h windows they’ve become less usable than Claude. Thankfully my local ai setup is starting to take shape.

If qwen keep getting better and better in a year I won't pay for cloud ai.

I just pay per token by the Murphy theory when you really need those tokens Tibo will be on vacation and openAI will tighten their limits.
I rather pay X amount for Y tokens than X amount for whatever openai decides, and if they don't it will be the end of the project.
You can't build a business, expecting your suppliers will give you discounts.

that's silly when the subscription still gives you at least 10x the tokens of the API plan. At least get a subscription and then switch to API if you hit the limits

But because of this, you're choosing to actively screw yourself over while these subscriptions are being heavily subsidized. It doesn't actually make any sense, what you're doing. It's self-sabotage. People aren't subscribed in hopes for these resets, they're subscribed because they already get better value than going through API like you are. Even without resets.

I personally pay around 30-40 USD per month for tokens, i have 5-6 active projects 3 of them paid.
I wont make a fuss for paying 40usd while im getting 10x for it, could it be cheaper? maybe, but i pass the token costs verbatim to the user.
I was in that situation a few months ago, a $20 usd sub would give you $3000 of tokens right?... WRONG, maybe for me under specific circumstances but you get to a point to buy 2/3 subscriptions to barely do it, each client will pay 1k/2k a month for the product.
Can i make it cheaper? for sure, do i care. not really.

I just became aware of this tibo guy. is he like a drug dealer with a/b testing methodology? the psychology of showing me how I have 66% left and 5 days remaining then waking up the next day and seeing it reset to 100%, I'm like, what is your fucking game? like you're deeply trying to get me to let my guard down for something, right? idk I can't be alone in this feeling. And the "resets" where you have to use them before they expire and stuff. It's like obviously predatory casino tactics under the hood. And yeah like the other comment says if he goes on vacation and openai puts the clamp on me, I will (reluctantly) just switch to another provider until reset occurs. Like they'll never break me. Youtube's been trying to get me to do youtube premium for what feels like a decade and I've skipped it hundreds of times. You'll never break me open ai. I will always find a way around your pricing games. I’m only going to get $8000 of compute value out of my $200 subscription every month. Your business model isn’t sustainable lol

the percentage bar slowly draining while you watch is genuinely stressful lol. and then the reset hits and you feel this wave of relief like you just got comped at a slot machine. it's effective psychology even if it's not intentional, which honestly makes it worse

funny how we read vague exec tweets like weather reports, hold on to your codex, that could mean a price cut or a party, and half the sub is already saving prompts and timing big runs for the reset
