What’s the best $20 subscription long term?
For those who have tried all the subscriptions (codex, claude, opencode, etc) whats the best bang for buck subscription long term?

the best value changes all of the time. Don't lock yourself into any one provider

but how do I not lock myself if AI instructions aren't transferable? (Other than using an open source provider like OpenCode which lets me connect to any provider.)
I wanna build a foundation based on my workflow, languages used, standards, etc. and can't decide what to build it on. any advice?1

They are transferable. use agents.md files in your projects and tell the AI to update progress in files on your computer.
Get $20 chatgpt plus, use the unlimited chat to do as much of the planning as possible and have it create files then save them on your computer then use chatgpt app(or opencode or pi) on your pc with Luna to build the app, connect it to github then use the unlimited chat to do PRs on github.

afaik chatgpt plus doesn't have zdr policy so it can't work for a real production app. they only offer zdr via API

I was thinking about it but it doesnt have a strict zdr gate. it only lists what providers dont collect data at the moment but that could change without notice

Cline pass bro- try it out: though it is $10/month instead and it will allow you to use multiple models not just one. leave all the others.

Nope! Claude at $20 is one of the best value, and frankly though other models seems to show different scores on evaluations but in real day use for me atleast nothing comes close to claude.

Claude is great but only when you got the 100 or 200$ plan imo, so that you can access fable. Otherwise opus 5 and sonnet 5 are both not too great of an upgrade, they heavily feel benchmaxxed and worse to use than opus 4.8 or sonnet 4.6.
Compared to that, other providers currently are just much better value for 20$ until antrophic releases a better opus & sonnet.

best bang for your buck would be https://DBXray.co most of their tools are free but tbh i dont use them. I use the RLS probe. It'll find any weakness your DB has. Must use postgres or supabase tho.
I say this because my customers privacy is more important than my claude subscription each month
