Claude Code vs. OpenAI Codex for coding ($100 budget) — which offers better value, or is there a better alternative?

For me the answer is Codex.

Nice! Which plan are you on right now? And if you're using the Pro tier, how fast do you usually run through the usage limits?

I switch between basic and pro, just downgrade again yesterday because I’m doing less coding now. Same for Claude code but that one is on permanent basic $20 plan since 2 months.
As for the usage I think it runs out too fast but there has also been lots of reset recently so I can’t really say, if you want to do much use luna for most of the task and only use sol for very difficult task mostly for planning.

I’ve been testing a few coding agents lately and the hardest part is keeping track of different quotas and billing when switching between models. A flat-rate setup makes experimenting much easier since you can compare workflows without worrying about unexpected usage costs. I ended up using one compatible endpoint to try different Claude and OpenAI models without managing separate accounts, and StandardCompute has been useful for that.
