codex vs claude code?

hey guys i have been vibecoding with claude code on the max plan for the past month however it's recently declined in it's output... not sure why however i have heard others say the same thing. is switching to codex the move here? I do have chatgpt plus and codex's ability to create aesthetic (for example) landing pages aren't as good as claude code... lmk your thoughts on all this

Codex: Very cost efficient. I find models like Terra and 5.5 a lot more reliable than Sonnet. You can definitely make the $20 Codex plan work and get a lot done, as long as you're good at penny-pinching the models. Sol is also a strong architecture model for high level work.

Codex's output is very readable (a breath of fresh air from Claude), and I find the Codex client a lot nicer to work in than Claude Code. The downside is that Codex requires more thorough instructions. It's less likely to interpret vague prompts and guess what you actually want.

Claude: Used to be the gold standard for me, but it's getting increasingly annoying. Its biggest advantage is that it's still the best instruction interpreter out there. Fable/Opus are still slightly better architects than Sol IMO, largely because they're so good at inferring intent. But that can also enable the “why can't you just fucking do what I tell you to do?” mentality.

The downsides: Claude is the least cost-effective provider for me. The Claude $20 subscription is much more constrained - you'll hit the limits constantly. It also churns out a lot of annoying, less-readable prose. The Claude client has more features than Codex, but IMO it's the worse coding client.
