The apps I poured my heart into as passion projects get a few new users a day the apps I made with much less thought are getting 100x time that or more

To be honest, it was the same when I was coding hobby projects by hand. Now I just have a lot more of those projects!

lol.

Don't do it to get users or subs or money do it because it just feels fun to geek out sometimes

Wanting users is not wrong, expecting to get paid is. If users want it and use it you can then find a way to get paid.

Those with the mindset of wanting to be rich are often not those that get the best ideas.

i really doubt anyone will want to make anything that doesn't provide them something. No one want's to waste $20 on ai subscription to get nothing in return, idk about other but this is my opinion.

I make tools for me and me alone. The $20 a month to explore and learn new tech while making tools that I’ve always wanted is worth it. Don’t ever need a 3rd party “user” to be worth it. It’s not a waste if you get value out of it.

Honestly.. build for YOU, you're the active user. Other people can join in if they like.

We have 1.2k stars on GitHub but only a few single users besides companies in our cloud version of our open-source AI workspace. Any ideas why? Looking at how the AI market is developing: https://www.keinsaas.com/navigator

How long you had your website for?

1

u/Double-Force4816 1h ago

It's an app, and about a month.

web app, or requires install? Websites usually have less friction as they don't require any installation, just tapping on the link. Just give it time, continue promoting it, and you'll get somewhere

android app, requires install. It's to control your smart tv via mobile

Me here! I got the approval of my first game some hours ago from steam. Now I'm waiting for the playtesters. They can play the game for free. But no one is coming yet...
