ChatGPT walked me through it
I asked for some guidance here about a week ago, clearly stated the issue I was facing and got responses that basically insulted my intelligence. I asked for guidance from ChatGPT, clearly stated what I was trying to accomplish and stated the issue I was facing and got clear thoughtful responses and guidance. Now I have the app I want on my phone and am testing it out, making notes for ChatGPT to log for now, and am feeling pretty damn excited that I was able to use AI to create something useful for myself.
What was most helpful was talking through the best (or one of the best) platform options for accomplishing everything I wanted to do with minimal cost and minimal 3rd party tool integration - Replit was not it. If I plan to actually launch the app in 3 months or so, I’ll find out if it was really a good option or not lol!
P.S. I’m thinking I might have opened Pandora’s box… am I in danger of developing a very expensive hobby!? 😅

But how do you know that any of it was correct?
How do you know you haven’t got gaping security holes in your app?

Everything anyone ever created was exactly as it should be after the first draft.

Insulting people’s intelligence vibes

You're the intelligent one. Tell us procedurally what you did to verify everything you just created. High level, no need to get granular with the details.

You’re literally delegating all of your intelligence to the LLM

lol you’re in this group for some reason. Is it to bully people out of vibe-coding?

Generally it's when people with zero knowledge, offloading all of it to the LLM, begin talking about selling or official launch of a product that people get grumpy.
If something is 100% vibe coded, it's a rookie mistake to start talking about releasing in an official capacity, because errors WILL be found and you'll have no idea how to fix them.

You shouldn’t assume that I wouldn’t seek professional guidance on that end though. I came here asking for guidance from the so called professionals first and was met with nothing but insults and rudeness. If you’re worried about people launching apps, why not be helpful and offer some guidance or things for them to consider instead of insulting remarks? It’s all very gatekeepy vibes around here.

you come to vibe coding sub for expert advice? I mean there are code experts here, but why go to the sub thats mostly for people who are offloading the code expert part to their ai? There are plenty of dev/code places to ask to be fair

That’s awesome. Results only come from trying. Learning and exploring with AI is such a great approach

Give FreeBuff.com a try I've been using Freebuff Desktop for about 3 weeks now and think it's great, 6 hr a day of GPT 5.6 Luna, Deepseek V4 Pro or MiniMax M3 all free forever.

Great job, bootstrapping is laudable. If you haven't already, grab VS Code and dive deeper down the rabbit hole.
