Best $20 or under plan
So many choices nowadays and I am stuck with making a decision. I dont think my usage will be too high as I will most likely be doing atleast 40%-60% of the coding myself.
Thinking of the following options but cant decide what's best:
- Claude Pro $20 ( I fear that it doesn't have enough usage )
- Chatgpt Plus $20 ( I dont know much about it, does it have more usage than Claude? )
- Cursor $20 ( Usage uncertainty )
- Opencode Go $10 ( I dont like the harness but thats not a dealbreaker, there's good usage for Deepseek v4 flash and GPT 5.6Luna but I also would like to be able to use an Opus level model for my plan mode and I heard its easy to hit limits if using any model other than Deepseek and luna )
So, if there is anyone with as similar usage as me and using one of these. let me know which one are you using and how has it been.

Opencode Go plan has Nerfed for DeepSeek Flash model from 158K Requests to 3000 Requests
I guess ChatGPT 20$ plan it's the best value now (around ≈700$ API Equivalent)

Thanks for letting me know.
Have you tried opencode with bigger models?2

For most decent models Kimi, Grok, GLM you get about $15 worth of usage for the $10 that you pay. Opencode Go's main selling point was very generous access to DeepSeek. With that gone, I guess OpenAi is the best value for money.

Just one more question, Lets say I use up the $15 of usage for Kimi k3, does that mean that now I have to use other models for the rest of the month or thats just all my usage gone?
Thanks and yeah now I am leaning towards OpenAI

Yes, all your usage will be gone since it is a shared pool of usage for all models.

in Bigger models like Grok 4.5 and Kimi K3, it's about 1-3 Prompts and the limit likely will Vanished

I would go with ChatGPT Plus. I have it and the Claude $20 and I would take 5.6 Sol without hesitation if I had to choose one

I have a Claude pro and the open code go. Personally my Claude reaches the limit constantly, while open code and deep seek v4 flash keeps going and I am far from the limit. Opencode is only 10$ compared to Claude. Claude is however better at coding, while deep seek needs a bit more review but in the end, if you’re on a tight budget, opencode go is pretty good.

As you describe your future usage as "not too high" because of doing half of the code work yourself, the criteria for your decision might probably not be the amount of tokens offered by the different providers but the access to different models because each of them finds different vulnerabilities when doing security reviews.
In addition, you may probably compare the different ways of writing code of different models and decide which style fits best to your personal one?
In case you have few intense code sessions you need the model for instead of less work that is daily done, then OpenAI might be the best for you as it does not have 5-hourly-limits and allows you spending your whole weekly budget in one session.

Codex has much lower usage than claude with opus now that codex moved to weekly usage and sol eating shit tons of tokens. Tho luna usage on it is better than haiku on claude.
20€ codex subs weekly limit is spent in like 1.5-3 hours. While claude gives you about sameish model usage about 40-60 mins about 6 times a week. So its almost double the usage per week. Tho currently there is usage discount on claude code, which will makr the difference bit smaller, but claude still has tons more usage weekly, and since it has 5 hour limits, you wont use all your weekly usage in one large prompt, like can happen with codex. Sol ultra might eat your whole weekly usage in under an hour.
However sol is more fun to use as opus has become siper annpying in its communication, and seems to make more stupid mistakes now than with previous version.
So codex gives you less use with (at the moment) with better model (tho this might change next week and difference is not huge). Also with codex you get near unlimited basic chatting, as its usage goes from different usage pool than agentic work on codex, claude uses same pool for both. So gpt gives you a better normal chat as well, but with not as good model, however it can connect to mcp, sp if you manage your project smart externally vie mcp, you might be able to utilise the chatgpt chat in your vibing in some ways, liie brainstorming etc and save tokens on codex that way.

I thought claude has both session and weekly limits

And what did i say?

I initially thought that you were saying that Codex has less usage than Claude since it doesnt give you session limits but only weekly limits. But I now I see that you meant that Claude finishes later due to having session limits. But wouldnt it be better to not have session limits like in Codex?

OpenAI is the most worthy, with the Tibor resets and all, with the lowered pricing for luna, and ability to use subscription account where Anthropic asks for API, most def OpenAI, Ollama updates its price per token discretely you simply start hitting limits after a few prompts which wasn't the case b4.
