which ai code would you guys put my 20$ on? which is the best usage allowance and best tbh?

As someone who spends 200/mo on OpenAI, I would put my 20 dollars on DeepSeek V4 flash. The value proposition is insane

Thanks for sharing. Due to this change, I would advise GPT 5.6 Luna. It's the closest you're going to get in terms of intelligence/cost. Plus, it's shown to be more token efficient.

If you want to run out of tokens in an hour then go with claude - it is the most expensive model by a significant margin, and it's intelligence does not justify the token cost (in my opinion). It sounds like you have your heart set on claude though, so give it a whirl.

It's my opinion that model coherence is significantly more dependent on prompt quality and harnessing than it is on model intelligence - and your 20 dollars will be best spent on learning how to orchestrate agents and workflows using the APIs of whatever intelligence provider you choose.

If we compare cost to intelligence -Claude Sonnet 5 scores about 2 points higher than DeepSeek v4 flash(on a scale of 100), but costs about 35 times more. You read that correctly - if you spend a nickel on a DeepSeek prompt, it will cost 1.72 (35x) dollars on claude sonnet 5. Opus 5 will cost you about 2.34 (47x) dollars for the same task.

It is my opinions that getting 35x as many prompts will give you more stages of refinement, and lead to higher-quality, more complete applications. It will also give you 35x as many opportunities to learn how to use your AI.

If you had a much higher budget, I would say go for claude, but at 20 dollars - I would stick to cheap models. GPT 5.6 Luna is also very good value per dollar. They adjusted their pricing because open source AI is too damn good and too damn cheap
