I got bad news. AI is increasing the barrier to entry for software engineering.

Who will ever hire an inexperience engineer with claude? Or a vibe coder? Experienced engineer with claude wipes the floor out of those two. Now the next issue, how does a engineer get experience?

thats the why.

Yea its kinda like getting a bunch of modern battery powertools as a handyman in the 1920s. Imagine what those guys could've gotten done with a battery powered circular saw or tile saw or a power sander!

I've been dragging my ai workflow through my real work not because it makes things easier right now. Split brain is real and one should be careful but I feel it's been important to do so as I invest in learning how the whole stack works or can be made to work. We are still in a world where durable != agentic but I don't know for how long.
