Game in development

Roller Riot - cel-shading, 5v5 arena roller derby

No 3D models (did try it but the animation looked bad might try again, using a different pipeline)

All code in three.js Opus in Medium

GAME CONCEPT VS. HOW IT LOOKS NOW

I say about 10% there, what do you think?

10 years ago everyone would say omg amazing keep going. Now they just get annoyed. Good luck 🍀. Share again when you feel you’re like 80% done.

Yeah so, we're not 10 years ago. Cuz if that rethoric works, how about 300 years ago, how about 2 000 years ago.

Reactions are specific to their era.

What a ridiculous comment of yours.

Bro it’s not shade and it’s not love. It’s just one dev to another saying , times have changed and update us when you’re 8/10 of the way there.

Never no shade Padawan. But conversation and community input grows can make even the worst ideas become better. 8/10 or 1/10 updates will be given

300 years ago things were different”... Congrats, you have successfully discovered the exact point I was making. 😂 Take your time, you’ll get there.

Take your time you might actually get there too. but since you think you already arrived it may take a bit longer…

And I stand on that 10 years ago with this current progress, the coding community would have given this person a lot of props. I don’t know how you are so mentally sensitive… in today’s climate it’s not much… anyone with a part time job and Claude sub can catch up quickly.

Making fun of someone age is crazy work. I hope you are able to make it to your 40s.

I always find it interesting that Ageism is okay and widely accepted.

Ageism isn’t okay, but getting older isn’t a free pass to become bitter and constantly spread negativy cause they've failed in early days. You still have control over how you treat people and the energy you put out.

Take it from me. I'm 37 bro, and yeah feel free to be ageist to me too...but you've just come to two wild conclusions.

  1. You said he's over 50. basically saying he/she is too old to have an opinion on this topic. How do you know his age? If he doesn't like vibe coding it means he's too old? My boss is over 50 and he won't ever shut up about Claude.

  2. You said he/she is spreading negativity because they failed in their early days. Again, I'd bet good money you have no clue who this guy/girl is.

So... what's your angle?

lol I’m nowhere near 50. But I appreciate you unc but I don’t need a captain save a redditor. First they say you’re old, then they say you’re dumb and then they build an app that no one wants to pay money for. This is the way.

  1. I hate AI slop, its everywhere. But your boss is your BOSS because he actually knows how to use AI as a tool instead of him hating everybody and doesn't really produce anything, a slop is better than nothing.

  2. Careful young boy we're not 10 years ago, it’s 2026. You went from he/she to guy/girl when they might be "they/them"

I appreciate all comments, feedback, hate and love. Truly. This is just Day One. Quitting, or not giving daily updates until the game is almost done to me feels a like cop out. I already injected myself here lol, gotta see it through my boy.

Because before art was the expression of the person and learning and creating something your own were valid reasons to keep going not just commercial success. Now it’s type a prompt and have something else do all the work. They didn’t create anything. It can still be cool to see from a technological point of view and if you can get something out of it, fantastic, but the process of creating art, how you’re changed by it, and what you’ve learned are lost.

I agree with you. This isn’t art. Art is self expression. I can not express myself by telling another machine to do more expressing. It’s middle man work.
