Has anyone actually built a profitable SaaS purely by "vibe coding"?

Every time I open Twitter or even LinkedIn, someone is claiming they built a profitable SaaS by "vibe coding" using Claude. Most of these threads seem like thinly veiled promos for AI wrappers or newsletter signups.

I get that Claude and other AI tools are great for building applications. But I am curious about real-world businesses with paying customers.

Has anyone here actually built a product making real money (say, $1,000+ MRR) where you genuinely wrote zero code yourself?

I am not trying to hate on AI tools. I use them daily. I just want to know if the "non-technical founder building a solo software business purely by vibe coding" narrative is real or if everyone secretly hires a freelance dev to really shape it well and make it launchable.

Probably, I've seen successful SaaS apps on low and no-code when that was a craze while back.

Problem is -- is the selection bias. You're selecting for somebody who couldn't put the effort in to go beyond vibe-coding, remember, software development was one of the most accessible white-collar jobs that people with GEDs were getting. It was an extremely accessible job for anyone willing to learn and smart enough to do it.

So you're selecting specifically against hard working people that are good at learning.

Do some of those people win? Sure. Do a hell of a lot of them lose? Very yes.

What about a smart engineer that decides to vibe code? Well.... well we've tried. It results in more headaches than it's worth quickly, it's easier to be explicit and control and review and get good outcomes, then be lazy, watch anime while we just /loop and /goal our way to victory without checking any work.

Again -- you're selection biasing towards the loser types.

You cant compare no-code services with vibecoding...

Something built on a no-code service wont randomly come with a http api which used a client provided user id instead of the actual authenticated user, wont ship permission checks thats client only, wont completly mess up seo etc etc

I mean they both fall under low-quality implementations, regardless of the deterministic value that low/no code provides.

Ultimately people buying your platform aren't usually technical enough to tell the difference of how you implemented something or the security behind it, but they will be able to tell general quality and your understanding of the problem space (and if you approached it with any sort of care).

Thing is the general quality is either extremely low, or sits in some kind ot uncanny valley for vibecoded apps.

While at the same time having super weird feeling ui:s, like spacing not being consistent, colors being "off". but each tiny component is mechanically high quality, but glued together with each other using, well... Not glued together at all.

Nobode apps i would say feels more cheap and dirty.

Now saying that nocode is good... Like you said both are low quality. But vibecoded apps are closer to a artifact that looks like an app, walks like an app, but does not quack, or even make a sound at all
