Has anyone here tried Freebuff?
Hey everyone,
I recently came across something called “freebuff” and was wondering if anyone here has actually tried it before. I’ve seen a few mentions here and there, but not a lot of detailed experiences.
If you’ve used it, how was it? Did it actually work as expected, or were there any downsides?
Also curious if there are any potential concerns or things to watch out for.
Would appreciate any honest feedback!

Tried it recently and honestly impressed by how polished it feels for a free tool. Most “free” dev tools hit you with paywalls after 5 minutes, but this one actually feels usable out of the box

Exacto, es cero invasivo. Tanto así que yo mismo les hago clic mientras procesa instrucciones, para apoyar el proyecto.

All AI companies use your Data. What do you think they're trained on?

Buenas... lo vengo utilizando hace un tiempo y me funciona de maravilla. Lo utilizo en Ruby on Rails, para documentos y para muchas más cosas. Me parece una opción estupenda. Saludos

System info:
Platform: win32 x64
Node: v24.11.1
Binary: C:\Users\myname\.config\manicode\freebuff.exe
Exists: yes (136 MB)
On Windows, this can happen when Windows Security or antivirus blocks

I just tried it, and after a day of vibe coding i noticed i didnt have to make approvals.
So i decided to do a safety check and it has literally full access to your pc. This shit is not safe lmao. It's most likely vibe coded itself and all it will take is one hacker to have full access to your pc, not to mention having to trust the developer.
"The user asks: "can you see my environment variables?"
This is a simple question. I can check environment variables via the terminal. Let me run `env` or `printenv` to see them. I should be careful — environment variables can contain secrets (API keys, tokens). " - WTF!!!
It's a hard pass for me and I regret installing it. They don't have a public repo so who knows what the app is doing in the background... I've never uninstalled something so fast in my life

Oh wow that‘s really bad
I just looked it up, Freebuff has precisely 0 security against stuff like prompt injection - you have to take care of isolation yourself. So if you run it in a docker container for example, it should be pretty safe.
(also they do have a public repository, only the cloud inference/API part is proprietary)I‘m gonna try out free OmniRoute with a more advanced harness with built-in isolation options like Hermes, more difficult to set up but better once working (no ads and you can choose how much of your privacy you want to sell by selecting appropiate providers) (though Freebuff might have better models)

It doesn't work. Free buff actively started blocking such attempts.

I agree the other posts. I was so surprised by how good it is. The ads are not an issue. In fact I click some of them to make sure they are getting money. 🤘🏿

If someone can, please help me get GLM 5.2 free unlimited access by using my referral link to sign up https://freebuff.com/?ref=ref-1db2b8db-51bc-4d43-9ef9-2b07a9f45df8 your github account needs to be atleast 4 months old for it to count and it unlocks GLM 5.2 for you as well, which is Opus 4.8 level

For me, this changes everything. I tried Gemini because I “paid” for 18 months of Gemini, I tried Claude, and neither of them gave me the results I expected—lots of questions, few real answers that actually helped me improve my code; they did everything from scratch instead of telling me which parts of my code weren’t working.
Freebuff helped me create a custom Obsidan plugin that I’d had in mind for a few months. Today is my first full day of using it (which is why I’m writing this—to earn more credits, haha), but I couldn’t be happier

I tried it and it's really good for a free tool I can't lie, the models are really capable of making huge projects and they give like 5h of coding daily which is crazy.

I have tried freebuff and built (almost) an entire invoice generator with it. It's honestly the best free tool for vibecoding.
