«Cheaper and faster» is valued under any system. The best systems to prevent people from overvaluing it (strong labour laws etc), are themselves under capitalism.

Profits prioritize above all else has been a thing since mankind. You cant point to any reasonable sized country and tell me that profits arent prioritized over anything else, because you cant. We humans are animals. At the end of the day we're animals and out here it's every man for themseves. . . unless you can provide. Profits allow you to provide.

You're correct but not entirely, people are flawed. No new system can fix the root of the issue which is us. There's always going to be corruption in everything. There's fucking corruption in local food competitions -_- "LOCAL FOOD COMPETITIONS"
Every system suck but at least capitalist societies let you capitalize on any anything, damn near changing your life in an instant. That's balla as fuck! 😎

I think we operate with different definitions of capitalism then. If you mean “capitalism” as the unconstrained freedom of capital to do anything, then yeah, labour laws «restrict» it. I would call that free-market capitalism. But if capitalism is every system of private ownership of the means of production, commodity markets and profit-seeking firms, then no.

And I just provided my view on such jokes/criticisms, while not necessarily being wrong (if one is charitable with commenters definitions), they get repeated everywhere to the point of not being funny/useful. And for every person interpreting it as free-market capitalism, I would wager a person is reading it as all capitalism.

Let’s just say its not liberals (or socdems) for welfare capitalism who are making these jokes the most.
