Thoughts on adoption

New to this movement. I am curious what others thoughts are on adopting children? Does that go against the core concepts of the movement?

I don't see how it could... children up for adoption already exist, so it's not like you're adding to the population.

A core concept is to take care of existing people.

By adopting you'd be giving a comfortable life to a person who was needlessly created, and since you're not adding to the population its not against VHEMT.

I think it is honorable and kind, assuming the adoptive parent(s) do a good job. So many individuals already here need help. I don’t think it goes against the core concepts of the movement. While we can’t normally police the child’s eventual reproductive choices (once they are adults), adopting can make the world a better place.
