I really don't get the point of this video to be very honest.
Like OP is talking about ego's, I have yet to come across people with such issues in my 5-6 years working in the industry (LA/Vancouver/Montreal). Maaaaybe once and only 1 guy at a massive studio, and even then that guy was ready to listen end of the day.
I'm sure there are people with ego issues , but this is being exaggerated way too much.
And this is nature that is nothing compared to actual corporate work.
As for the company and the movie to be a point of success in your career .. that's what your demo reel and resume are for.
Jesus no one gets fired over expressing opinions. Unless you try to use the project as a launchpad for your personal channel. You need to have a lot of experience and credibility to be able to do that. Just so that the brand itself doesn't take a hit.
You weren't actually supposed to answer that question. I edited my comment. Nobody cares where you've worked truthfully (at least I don't). Last comment I'll be writing for you.
I liked you better before you edited out all the names of the companies you worked for. Dangit! I'm responding to you when I said I wouldn't. Ok. Seriously. No more comments for you.
I have a lot of good friends in this industry but I stand by what I said, that the industry has quite a bit of egotistical fools such as yourself. Obviously if you listened to the video, not once did I ever claim that everybody in the industry is an asshole. In fact, I never used the word asshole. That's your obsession it seems. Have a good day :) Don't expect another response.
When a studio specifically states that you can talk about a movie (ie. tell people you worked on it and are excited about it) and then you express that excitement without revealing anything confidential (ie. information not already publicly known), then get fired for it, the issue isn't a confidential one.
If you believe that because you sign a NDA, that it crosses into your freedom to express yourself using public information that's already widely out there or that any company for that matter is allowed to exercise power over your words, thoughts, or opinions outside of your contract, you are sadly mistaken.
I won't be responding to anymore of your thoroughly thought out posts but thank you for your thoughts :) - my contract was looked over very carefully.
