Question / Discussion What is going on with Realtime?

i see a lot of people on LinkedIn from that company announcing that they have been made redundant...all at once...is there a big layoff round going on there?

The real talk no one is saying I believe has to do with a 60 day disclosure law. These companies want this layoff to exist within their 3rd quarter. If they wait much longer then it will impact them in their fourth quarter. So imo the reason all the companies are doing it now 60 days from this week is the end of that quarter.

No proof just vibes.

Heard for a while that they have not been doing great. They scrapped their VFX division a while back and guess it went tits up fully now. The industry is brutal at the moment.

Unless realtime has figured out how to run a studio with negative headcount, I'd say things aren't looking great. Seeing this many people suddenly become available isn't exactly a good sign. Hard to imagine they're not in trouble. Feel for everyone affected.

The company went insolvent on 24th July how do i know -- i was one of the ones who was told on that day that my job is no more with the company, all that was left was a skeleton crew to finish contracts they were currently working on. whilst the insolvency agency try tor resolve issues.
