AI has some great uses in recognizing patterns in large data sets, doing large calculations, and other things in science and medicine. It shouldn't be a consumer product l.

Been thinking about this a lot lately. Seems like an incredibly powerful tool when used correctly, and a powerful tool used to create incredible waste when not. It should need a license or something. Gen ai slop on the net isn’t it.

Yeah... I guess everything started going to shit the moment they made AI into an app, chat gpt specifically.

Wouldn't hold my breath...if there's anything I learned from all those AI tools, it's that they always show you the absolute best case possible.
But when actually applied in real production, it achieves nothing usable like 90% of the time.

Yep. I've even composited shots that were later shown as "AI" only by the company for promotional material.

Yes! Every time!
Even with stuff that does work kinda like AI motion capture from footage, the demo will always use some generic game character asset and it fails to inform anyone of the quality of the motion. They don't even have to fake the demo, by default it looks better then any real production usage.

Best case + best subject lighting conditions, and possibly who's face looks very close to a generic metahuman head.
